Re: Best bank to get interest on savings account ?

For a daily expense account I would recommend OCBC 360. Good interest and so far few complaints about OCBC's service. Terrible experience with UOB. For a savings account that you don't intend to touch you can check out Citi Maxigain. Very few requirements except for a 15k initial deposit but the int...

Teaching in Singapore

Hi, I have a question pertaining to teaching in private education in Singapore. Is there any requirement to register for a license with the government (MOE) before you can start teaching? If there is, who applies for this license (employer or employee) and where can it be applied?

Thank you.

Re: LOC - qualification attained

Here's two things to consider. The definition of educational credentials differs all over the world. In the USA there are no such things as A-levels and O-levels... you graduate high school or you don't. MoM has seen credentials from all over the place... your employer should just put in exactly wh...

Re: LOC - qualification attained

The employer chooses the one that most closely matches the highest qualification you have actually attained. Thank you for your reply. Do you happen to know exactly what those options are? What difference does it make? There are no "options". One types in the highest level attained. O-lev...

Re: LOC - qualification attained

Right, I'm sorry if I've been unclear. Basically, I would like to know what options the employer can choose from for the employees 'highest qualification attained' when he applies for an LOC online with MOM. The employer chooses the one that most closely matches the highest qualification you have a...

LOC - qualification attained

I have a question regarding the LOC. Because I wonder if the qualification filled out by my employer is a 100% accurate, I would like to know what options the employer can choose from for the employees 'highest qualification attained' when he applies for an LOC online with MOM. Singapore driving license renewal

I have a quick question on the renewal of a Singapore driving license for foreigners. A while back I had to convert to a local license with a 5 year validity. I was wondering, since in a few months my visa needs to be renewed, will that affect the driving license in any way? Will that need to be ren...

Re: Application for LTVP while based overseas: Spouse of SGC

Hard to say. I would call ICA on this one. I'd reckon it will be hard to obtain, since neither you nor your sponsor stay in Singapore. Has your wife found a job in Singapore in order to be able to support you as the dependent?

Re: Media Posts

The LTVP+ is only for spouses of Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. As your partner is neither, you would only be able to work on a Letter of Consent IF you are able to get a Dependent's Pass. If you cannot get that, but are somehow able to get an LTVP (I don't know how though) you still wo...

Re: Media Posts

My partner is being relocated to Singapore but because we aren't married I cannot come on a Dependent Visa. I work in television in UK and have 3+ years experience of Media and Television Production - an area I am keen to stay in. Are there lots of media companies in Singapore? Do you think it will...

Are you also required to update your status for citizenship if you get promoted, but still work for the same employer?

Do you have the Fax number? Can you send a fax to that number asking the person on the other end to contact you so you can explain your situation?

Re: What are the Chances of getting LTVP

Congratulations on that! I've been through the LTVP process, so can offer my opinion/experience (you might also search for what I wrote (in detail) on the process at the time. My recollection though is that - - Everything you need is listed on their IPA letter, including stuff like medical, photos ...
