Re: Why dont food courts have napkins?
I recently sat at a table that had been choped with a black business card. I didn't see the card, but even if I had, I probably wouldn't have realized it was meant as a chope. The young man who had left it started yelling at me, but I smiled, apologized and moved to the next table over, which I coul...

Re: Where to eat in Singapore?
The food here isn't my idea of high quality due to lack of fresh local ingredients. However, for what is available, I suggest reading Lady Iron Chef's blog. He has never steered us wrong whether we wanted zi char or a western steak.

Re: SC + Foreigner : 'Pre-marriage LTVP'
Spouses of citizens are now eligible for LOC work that was previously only for DP holders so that's a part of this as well. Existing spouses of SC should know that there is now a special renewal portal just for spouse of SC, separate from other LTVP holders, and there are new questions on the renewa...

My dad really liked the Peranakan Museum and the Buddha Tooth Temple. We're in the same boat when he visits so I'm trying to think what else as well.

If this is such a successful country.... then why is everyone so apparently bloody angry about everything? https://www.facebook.com/smrtsg/posts/926964310661115" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; "Our gahmen see this island as a corporation, not country. the lack of close friendships even with neighbors in HDB flats always made me feel a little disenfranchised. This is the one thing that still is a culture shock for me and I don't think I will ever get used to. Of the 7 neighboring households on my floor, only one household ever says hello to me or...

In all fairness, there have been numerous posts by forum regulars telling other forum regulars how to install adblockers. While I don't enjoy ads, I understand if the forum admins want to try and get a revenue stream off it. Would an adblocker make condo type hotlinks go away? I expect users are pe...

I'm not sure if this is an indication, but it seems to be easier to get PR these days.. - I got mine in December 2013, after being here for 4 years. Applied in June 2013. I am Indonesian Chinese. - A friend of mine got approved in Feb 2014 and applied June 2013. Graduated from local uni. Indian rac...

Teaching jobs in the US are extremely competitive right now. Tons of layoffs of already credentialed teachers in the past few years have caused a very saturated field. I know teachers in the states who commute 90 min to 2 hours each way because they can't get a job close to home and the job isn't st...

Very true! You can make a simple delicious cheese with milk and lemon juice. I should have specified I want to make mozzarella. I found a recipe for pepper jack that looks good too.sundaymorningstaple wrote:Don't believe you need all that to make Paneer

I haven't tried Uber yet but am keen to hear more, a friend has and had good things to say. Another taxi-related topic or rant I have is something that doesn't happen often, but happened recently. Coming back from the airport, luggage in car, the driver stood there as if it was going to load itself...

Interesting bit on Extra Virgin. I still have not tried it yet! And definitely white pizza, thanks. You can try Peperoni (Binjai Park, Greenwood, Frankel and River Valley) for the cheaper version if you want something close with Da Paolo's quality. I tried Cacio E Pepe at Hillview (Chu Lin Road) la...
