Re: Landlord refused to provide the service as discussed

You underestimated the ability of SG government in putting the "right person" in prison. Period.

Re: Landlord refused to provide the service as discussed

Just one thing to note. Wifi is not that touchy. The obviously illegal sites they have a very well protected firewall from the Government, that even blocked some famous porn sites even it is legal to browse here in Singapore. This country has all the bubble wraps before you think of it so no wifi is...

Re: Landlord refused to provide the service as discussed

I have my own fibre line as I move along. That is not as scary and troublesome as it sound - just go to any branch of any ISP of your liking and sign up for one. It is cheap, less than SGD50 per month and they give you a router too. Sometimes they will also give you a few months free so it rounds up...

Good and bad experience in renting HDB room

I read a lot of extreme landlord/neighbor on various forums, and frankly I learnt a lot thanks to all the posters. I think it's time for the pay forward. Let me share my own experience to you. I came to Singapore since 2014. My first HDB room which I have stayed for more than 3 years was let to me b...

Re: PR application rejected

Oh then now I understand you worries. If I were you I would ask your wife to re-submit the PR application after half a year from the date of rejection. I am saying that because it is easier to get the pass for the baby if either of you has became PR. And for you, you really will have to wait for tha...

Re: contract on fibre

Sorry for the bump. Just trying to be constructive. At that time I went with Singtel (till now) and they didn't even look at my IC before giving me the 2 years contract. I was signed up for 2 years with an IC that theoretically would not have covered the whole contract. And for the call-to-inquiry, ...

Re: PR application rejected

your wife was not rejected solely based on salary IMHO. A colleague of mine, with only a bachelor but assuming the same position as your wife, PR-ed just a few months ago. She is an Indian Malaysian FYI. Per your application, it is true that it is more preferable for you to complete your degree and ...

Re: S pass renewal with dual nationalities

I got my IPA today, and it was fast cause in the original post the HR actually only submitted an amendment to MOM but not a renewal application. they only submitted the renewal application on 6th April and there...

Re: S pass renewal with dual nationalities

if that is so important. A is Hong Kong, B is British National (Overseas), where i don't have any right of abode in any places on Earth with the latter one. it is just considered as a travel document which everyone of us hop on that for convenience to travel in europe.

Re: just offered a research fellow position and need advice

if you are not considering for a faculty position and you are doing bioinformatics, i would say you could be quite competitive since bioinformatics is one of the growing fields in the area. i would say you can try bargain for a 5K since you would expect for all kind of asian style boss.

good luck.

S pass renewal with dual nationalities

Hi, I have passport A and B. My S Pass was applied on passport A. Now because passport A is going to expire in coming July (so that my current S Pass is going to expire in June) and I have to go back to my country for renewal, I renewed Passport B instead which doesn't need my presence. After that I...

contract on fibre

Hello guys, I am writing to ask about the contract period on Fibre plan. I need to install a Fibre connection at my place, where i found the majorities required at least 2 years contract. I am willing to sign for that period, but the point is my SPass IC will expire on 26 June 2015, due to the expir...
