I am a taxi driver , I would pronounce it the same way as " idea ' , just have the " kea" instead of "dea "

If I understand it correctly your overstay happened before the ten years that you were staying here legally So if you were allowed to stay here despite the past offence committed wouldn't it meant that the authorities have known about it . In this case if I were you I would not mention the overstay ...

I would not suggest an appeal , just be patient and reapply in about a year or so. don't give up hope. The number of PR status given out in 2013 was 30,000 that's an average of 2,500 a month. In the meanwhile try to upgrade yourself or join the PA and do some volunteering work , or be a grassroot me...

Congratulations!!
You are 29 years of age and got exempted from serving NS , while all those who were born here have to do 2 ot 3 years full -time NS and continue will Reservist In-camp training till we are 40 years old.

I think your chances of getting PR is extremely high , but you have to tell ICA
officer that you won't be interested in getting Singapore passport or citizenship.
