Re: Good to great massage service in Singapore

It's one of the enduring mysteries of Singapore: why something so traditionally oriental as a massage needs to be so expensive here. I've tried a few upmarket spas and a few neighborhood ones, and whilst not necessarily bad, they all seem way overpriced, particularly when the masseuse isn't properly...

Re: Street trees disappearing

We do have a few resident geckos yes. And I'm pretty sure they take their fair share. But it doesn't really explain the way lower roach count when we're outside eh.

Any entomologists out there care to have a go?

Re: Street trees disappearing

Never mind the street trees, what happened to the cockroaches? There used to be cockroaches everywhere you look, with an occasional infestation every now and again. We used to spot a roach at home every so often, little ones, sometimes a big one, and I'd see them scurrying away outside pretty regula...

The holidays are the perfect opportunity to enjoy a break from daily routines. the climate is dry, so it's unusual for any outdoor plans to be ruined by rain.

Great, thanks. Any advice on crypto?

You may have missed this, but this guy had launched a gazillion threads, all including "discount" in the subject.

Just a little jocularity on the Thursday morning.

With this: "Lying to an older lady that she would be fined if she didn't vote yes" there appears to be scope for that second one, no?

Re: Be ware of this unethical landlord and agent

Interesting perspective. The air-con servicing is a pain in the arse I agree. But have you ever opened up one of them after it hasn't been serviced for a while? That felt screen loads up with serious crud. It also tends to start smelling mouldy after a while. I don't think they need a full-on servic...

I wouldn't be surprised if a few of those 81% required a wee bit of persuasion so to speak. All is fair in love and the property market.

Have a a bit of a root around; odds are it may no longer be such a given.

I always negotiate hard before renting and then write-off the deposit. Over a 5 year period loss of deposit is no big deal considering how much you spent on rent. Just divide the deposit by number of months. I bet it is not even 5% of the rent.

Re: Restaurants with good ambience in Singapore?

By the by, we had a pretty darn decent meal at Spize, the one near the firing range. The dishes we'd selected (Valentine's Day Special) were unlike anything I've had here in Singapore and the service was - dare I say - European standard. Sure, they're fairly hard on the wallet, but not at all in the...
