Re: Surfers/travel

I think Cerating should have started building some "swell" by now. Also, there's a yearly surf contest off Juara, Tioman, usually by Jan/Feb. Malaysia's surf, typically around the monsoon months, is not the thickest or most consistent, but I guess it will do for a quick fix. Or if you want even clos...

Re: Resale home prices not coming down?

They're sticky on the way down, because of 1) agents continuing to paint the picture as rosy and 2) kiasu owner wannabes happily lapping this up, against their better judgment and common sense. The other thing that skews the marketplace is that developers prefer to give away all kinds of freebies at...

Re: Online Business - Curious

Tiktok, just go to Youtube; you'll be bombarded by endless interstitials by various local clever-dickies floating just that: lots of money for next to nothing.

Don't spend it all at once.

Re: Amazon.sg

I've been snubbed by Amazon for years and years. For all its growth and popularity, it's been the most useless site for me, not only in terms of it consistently not delivering to Singapore but also in the way it keeps telling me over and over that it's only displaying items that can be delivered to ...

Re: Chicken or Egg First?

Neither.

The real question is: Which came first, the bacterial Type III secretory needle complex or the flagellum? Both the chicken and the egg came long after.

Re: Dive spots in Asia

Well, wilst, alas, the Singapore to Tioman ferry is no more, I reckon the diving there is still good enough to justify taking the Mersing ferry, say, for a weekend's diving/R&R getaway, depending on how long your friend has of course.

Re: Mynah birds flying into home

That Japanese dollar shop sells them, forget their name. They're like kites, black and cut into a sleek hawk shape. They're supposed to deter feathered and furry interlopers by flapping around in the breeze. Then again, Mynas are bloody smart, doubt they'll be deterred for long by these gizmos. What...

Re: Baby Adoption

I'm no expert on adoption matters, but I'm pretty sure that the odds of an OTC deal in Singapore are as good as out of the question.

Try an agency.

Re: Haze in Singapore

The PSI readings are reactive, rather than proactive. They don't forecast haze conditions, but take averages of the past 24 hours, amongst other paramaters. When the winds shift, the haze situation outside can change pretty abruptly, but the PSI will need some time to reflect this. Basically, the PS...

Way ahead of you, SE :)

Re: The varnish is starting to go

Sounds realistic, SE. SEO peeps go to pretty extreme lengths and they're bloody resourceful. That being said, I'll take you up on that bet. OP's post looks legit to me. A Snickers bar says he/she is going to get back to clarify, i.e. that he/she is on the level. Of course, his/her control panel cont...
