Re: Receiving telemarketing calls everyday

I don't know if this is already common knowledge, so I'll add it here just to be sure it's out there. Whenever you see a number preceded with Singapore country code in your display when there's a call coming in, i.e. with the "65" prefix, then the call is not from a local phone. Rather, it's spoofed...

Re: Divorce pronounciation

Yeah, and what's with this "fla" instead of "flower" when referring to the bread mix? Am I missing something? I don't think there's any other country that uses "fla", other than the US as a shortcut for "Florida". I mean no objections of course, but it's weird how it seems to be the case so locally ...

Re: Currency Exchange

Now there’s a site out there which allows you to see money changer rates all over Singapore; It’s called CashChanger and it gives you up-to-date rates for 13 currencies. Started only about 7 months ago, it now provides information from over 80 money changers in Singapore. Yeah, I don't really see h...

Re: Small Claims Tribunal Mediation

I'm not nearly as much in the know as some of the experts here, but do I understand correctly that your LL wants the place handed over, after a 2 year lease, in the same shape it was rented out 2 years ago? Because if so, I'd tell him to shove it. Unless, say, your kids knocked into the walls and do...

Re: Surfers/travel

I think Cerating should have started building some "swell" by now. Also, there's a yearly surf contest off Juara, Tioman, usually by Jan/Feb. Malaysia's surf, typically around the monsoon months, is not the thickest or most consistent, but I guess it will do for a quick fix. Or if you want even clos...

Re: Resale home prices not coming down?

They're sticky on the way down, because of 1) agents continuing to paint the picture as rosy and 2) kiasu owner wannabes happily lapping this up, against their better judgment and common sense. The other thing that skews the marketplace is that developers prefer to give away all kinds of freebies at...

Tiktok, just go to Youtube; you'll be bombarded by endless interstitials by various local clever-dickies floating just that: lots of money for next to nothing.

Don't spend it all at once.

I've been snubbed by Amazon for years and years. For all its growth and popularity, it's been the most useless site for me, not only in terms of it consistently not delivering to Singapore but also in the way it keeps telling me over and over that it's only displaying items that can be delivered to ...

The real question is: Which came first, the bacterial Type III secretory needle complex or the flagellum? Both the chicken and the egg came long after.

Re: Dive spots in Asia

Well, wilst, alas, the Singapore to Tioman ferry is no more, I reckon the diving there is still good enough to justify taking the Mersing ferry, say, for a weekend's diving/R&R getaway, depending on how long your friend has of course.
