Re: Buying GoPro

Doubt JB is better. Most electronics there are a little higher even than in Singapore, in my experience. Vietnam I'm not sure, but overall, I think your best bet is probably online.

Re: Ants are driving me mad!!!

They're pretty voracious; I can only imagine how many mozzies they've knocked back in our place over the years. Lifesavers they are.

Re: Ants are driving me mad!!!

Or get a cicak. I've watched ours pick off a string of ants one by one. We prefer not to use any kind of chemicals, so we're closing one eye to the wee gecko's presence. And it's pretty discrete, so everybody's happy.

Re: holiday programmes for young teens?

I am very grateful that my son obtained a distinction for his ‘ O’ level English. It was least expected as he failed his English in Chung Cheng High (main) in Sec 3. When my colleague recommended us to send him to Joanne Choo Language Centre at Clementi, I was reluctant. It is so far. However, it t...

I’m trying to work out how many times they do random testing. There is not much on the news about it

That's because chances are zero.

The shirt on my back, my Wham-O and the paperback edition of Culture Shock: Singapore. That was 38 years ago.

Re: Malaysian Petrol

The petrol there may not make a difference to the engine or performance, but it sure stinks the place up a lot more than in Singapore. Traffic fumes are way more smelly once you cross the border. Could be the cars aren't as new on average as they are in Singapore. Or perhaps they don't tune them as ...

Re: Car Prize Winner ...... surprised it doesn't come with COE .

I reckon most of the times a car can be won, the actual car prize is just a gimmick, especially when they state the car's retail price over and over, even more especially when a car showroom is one of the event sponsors. By far most of the times, the car is never actually handed over, yes, in part d...

Re: Good to great massage service in Singapore

It's one of the enduring mysteries of Singapore: why something so traditionally oriental as a massage needs to be so expensive here. I've tried a few upmarket spas and a few neighborhood ones, and whilst not necessarily bad, they all seem way overpriced, particularly when the masseuse isn't properly...

Re: Street trees disappearing

We do have a few resident geckos yes. And I'm pretty sure they take their fair share. But it doesn't really explain the way lower roach count when we're outside eh.

Any entomologists out there care to have a go?

Re: Street trees disappearing

Never mind the street trees, what happened to the cockroaches? There used to be cockroaches everywhere you look, with an occasional infestation every now and again. We used to spot a roach at home every so often, little ones, sometimes a big one, and I'd see them scurrying away outside pretty regula...
