Re: Oh the Irony! Duo from TRS arrested - one is FT!

Well, was a matter of time until they arrested somebody from that site under the sedition act... that story seems really far-fetched too, but as long as a less favored race can be claimed... :^o

Re: PR approved, but I don't need it anymore WTF!!!???

I don't think you can still take it, if you are being honest (or if they know about your being out of a job, which is likely). If they find out later, you'd likely be in trouble as well. I know it's hard to give up, but since you're moving to HK, just decline it politely. Sadly, that will likely mea...

Re: Employment Pass Cancellation Problem from Employer

My $0.02, what I always do, and has never failed me so far (even when I was in a legal battle with my ex employer): Prepare a resignation letter addressed to your manager (whose name you should know!!), HR (if there is any) and other supervisors you need to notify. Must include the address of the co...

Re: s pass and company problem question

Re: Likelihood of my husband getting pr

Your husband is unlikely to qualify for LTVP+ (read up on the requirements). In any case, last time I checked, the procedure is to apply for LTVP; if you qualify, your husband will get LTVP+, otherwise LTVP. Your options are, pretty much: 1) Husband takes LTVP, then comes to Singapore to find a job....

Re: LOI signed but no TA produced within 7 days

Pardon me, but isn't good faith deposit not refundable? If made in good faith by both sides - but in this case, it does not look like the landlord and/or agents are acting in good faith (i.e. with the intention to close the deal as quickly as possible), so the prospective tenant should be able to g...

Re: LOI signed but no TA produced within 7 days

chapung, Yes, legally you are in the right that you can demand the deposit back seeing as the TA is still not signed. However, are you prepared to go to court over that? I would push very hard (daily SMS!) to the agent about getting the TA signed, until you either get a reply that it is ready or tha...

Re: No more public drinking and retail of alcohol post 10.30

From what I've read/watched it seems a lot of the grief was due to the fact they couldn't play their drums due to them causing a public disturbance , yet for other religious festivals/public holidays celebrated in SG musical instruments, fireworks etc are welcome. Is this a sign of religious intole...

You could also try using your favorite flavor of Linux to see if it works better - usually it should for older devices. I personally prefer Kubuntu. You can have dual-boot, or even boot from USB/DVD to try first. That being said, if you have serious h/w issues, switching to Linux also won't help in ...

Re: Suing My Soon to be ex Husband in Singapore

Hi, I have to ask what you possibly want to sue him for? What do you hope to gain from it - monetary compensation? Know that lawyers in Singapore are quite expensive, and that this is not the US - so the monetary compensation may not be all that high. I would say get a divorce and move on; in any c...
