Re: 12 Hours' Free Flow drinks for Singapore New Years Eve Party

Not that I'm here for NYE, but can anyone promise that this won't fall prey to the problem common in free-flow scenarios, namely that it takes 45 minutes to obtain a drink?

Re: Expats not living the typical expat life?

Parents on works permits are not allowed to have dependents here in Singapore, so in that respect, no, the kids are not allowed to attend school here as they are not allowed DPs. In fact spouses are not allowed to accompany WP holders either. However, if the spouse can also gain a work permit then ...

Re: RE: Re: Move Overseas Mortgage to Singapore

No guarantee it won't fall further. There's a serious problem coming with AUD housing mortgages - if housing prices fall off a cliff the bank may insist on revaluing. However I am also in this boat and I bought in when the AUD was SGD1.17.... I guess that worked out well? Or? Sent from my SM-G900F ...

Re: Move Overseas Mortgage to Singapore

Try SMATS (Google it). One thing to note - in order to enjoy the lower interest rates, you'll need to borrow in SGD. The SGD is a relatively volatile currency and swings heavily affect SGD mortgages. Long story short, say you borrow 50% for an Aussie property. The loan is issued in SGD. If the AUD s...

Re: Please help serious family problem Indian woman

Even a job paying $5,000 should leave enough for savings and the $1,000 remittance. That's provided you live with a friend and don't go out. But then you'll be newly single so you'd probably want to go out hunting for fresh meat. In that case, get the guys to buy you your glasses of wine. Sent from ...

Re: RE: Re: Please help serious family problem Indian woman

What I don't understand are these so called modern, well educated Indian women who appear modern outward, clothing fashion etc, but want their husbands to pay for everything, support them financially and then sit at home and do nothing, when a break up crisis like this occurs, they can't seem to think...

Re: Please help serious family problem Indian woman

I drafted a massive reply and then Tapatalk crashed, and now I can't be anussed retyping the whole thing. The gist of what I was going to say is that raj is right in the sense that you want to divorce your husband for his amoral nature yet you seem to be keen on manipulating him for your own means, ...

Re: House Prices could drop by a Quarter?

Thanks, that's great. I got the fee from page 17 of DBS' deposits guide, as below. It applies to foreign currency current account. What's the 'official' name of the account you have?
