Re: Children maintenance payments - in advance or in arrears?

If you don't pay it in advance you risk your ex running to the FC and making a scene... they will (and did to me) ask for proof of payment. Better to look the good guy/girl. Ok on re-reading I get the sense that you're the custodial parent. In that case explain to the none custodial parent that the ...

Stert saving for your income tax bill

The budget for YA 2017 increased the top rate and move some brackets down. I expect about a 25% increase in my bill. Be prepared. IRAS has a calculator in their website.

Re: Singapore PR for Indian Origin Canadian

Hey Folks I am evaluating an offer that will move me from USA to Singapore that will pay me close to $200,000SGD a year. However I have been reading that indian origin folks are having a tough time getting a PR. I am wondering if anyone has an idea how my application will be treated? I am born in I...

Re: Brag alert. My son just aced the O levels

Even though I hated how much time he spends on IG/Snapchat etc and chatting to his friends that is the reality of Singapore today and I know it helped him to have that connection. I have come to terms with the snapchat use. One of mine is a heavy user. It did not come at the expense of in-person in...

Re: Which passport to use - Belgian vs South Africa

The Belgian tax system distinguishes between 'resident' and 'non-resident' taxpayers when it comes to determining what income is subject to taxation. As a general rule, Belgian residents are taxed on their worldwide income, while non-residents are only taxable on their Belgian source income. For SA ...

Re: Brag alert. My son just aced the O levels

A few people have asked me what helped him....firstly he was in a normal neighborhood school.... that's right - he pulled off an excellent score in a normal school. (I just double checked - his L1R4 is 8 less CCA makes 6 - there is literally every course at poly open at that level and most JC as wel...

How to stop an Enbloc

Where I own is trying to go enbloc. The committee is formed, CSA approved and they have 62% signatures. The pressure is really on and frankly it's legalized harassment for the next 11.5 months while they try to get to 80%. Unfortunately I am not likely to suffer a financial loss because of an enbloc...

Brag alert. My son just aced the O levels

Aggregate of 8. Four As, two Bs and a C in Malay. Those As include English and the tough A Math. He's off to Poly for chem Eng. He's the top scorer in his cohort. Those of you who have followed me a bit know what a relief this is.

Re: Should we move to Singapore?

You won't. I've done a fair amount of research into moving to NZ fro Singapore and my wife teaches here. The living costs (real estate, cars and just living) in Singapore are significantly higher than NZ than any salary and tax difference in Singapore favour is discounted completely and a handyman a...

Neither of you will get any form of pass at all except maybe a SVP. Your dad destroyed your chances of having any future in Singapore.
