Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

Honestly you have a few tough issues. Solving them logically and in sequence will lead the way forward. 1. Getting a bank account in a low income tax jurisdiction. Sounds straightforward but isn't anymore with KYC. Singapore banks will not issue one without a DP at minimum (or possibly an ongoing ba...

Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

I agree with SE on avoiding the Wyoming thing. For some reason it's the current sexy response to the issue of getting a back k account and low tax entity but I tend to agree avoiding IRS is a good idea. If your business plan is viable have your friend add it into his existing business as a subsidiar...

Why anonymous? Just ask them.

As for one month pay back clause.... I've seen that one fought successfully before. You'll need a lawyer.

Re: Selling Real Estate in Australia - Clearance Certificate

Yes I only became aware of this myself recently and am facing potentially a similar situation. Have you asked your solicitor or settlement agent for advice? This is all new to me as well and makes me wish I had completely sold out a few years back as I had planned and perhaps you feel the same. From...

Re: Entry Permit

I don't know if people on this forum are pure ignorant or just stupid. I made a simple post about ENTRY PERMIT but everyone thinks I'm talking about REP. They are NOT the same. More stupidly, people thinks I'm crying over it. Like dude, is this something cry-worthy? I'm just trying to see if anyone...

Re: Moving to Singapore to attend Duke-NUS; Possibility of getting PR for lower tuition?

Marriages of inconvenience has been a hot topic but that should not stop you from legitimately getting married. However the chances of this working a multiples of chances (PR, marriage success, application at duke, chances of getting scholarships yadda yadda). There's also the time issue - starting ...

Re: When should I inform my supervisor of my intention to resign?

IF you contract does not explicitly state a punishment (i.e. a payback or clawback clause). for not serving notice then I would risk giving notice after you get your bonus and not showing up (i.e. fly out). Your tax matters will be an issue but can be resolved remotely. I would state you are working...

Agreed. Crybaby also doesn't bother to think about why HR want it (here's a hint - so they pay the correct CPF amount).

Re: What if e-REP renewal process is in progress and the REP expires?

Good luck on that. I believe they ask if you have been to Singapore before. Depending on the answer and body language, they may or may not put your particulars in the computer system to see what pops up. Should it show you were here as a PR, you could find yourself in some difficulties. The best th...

Re: When should I inform my supervisor of my intention to resign?

Are you likely to be put on garden leave for the three months? No, I don't think so, although I wish it would be the case. Tell them you are taking a job with a competitor. That may trigger it or at worse they may put you on minimal duties but they'd be idiots to keep you in the building in this ca...
