Bloody moronic PAP. I hope they get wiped out in the next GE. They have no compassion for the poor.

Re: Company setup before leaving Singapore, advise from company secretary correct?

OP have a look at Labuan. It's a specific offshore services hub set up for this type of activity. (It's also where Nick Leeson suspiciously went on holiday just after the trades he did in the bank blew it up - not that the UK press over seemed to connect the dots).

Re: Company setup before leaving Singapore, advise from company secretary correct?

Why not just invoice as a sole proprietor from wherever your living and make whatever tax arrangements you need to there? Then there is no need for anything in Singapore. Which country will you be tax resident in or you hoping to be non resident for tax purposes in any country (aka perpetual travell...

I'd scratch Singapore off any 'low tax' list OP has. Maybe go to Monaco instead, the PAP have been pretty adamant Singapore's days as a low tax haven are gone.

Re: Lazy Tax Resident

The PAP have raised the prospect of 'new' taxes. Considering how much push back they are getting on raising the GST or income tax it's possible they may bring in a CGT soon.

Re: Rises Taxes ....

Actually I'm wondering if they might bring in a CGT tax. A shit load of money has been made recently on property transactions and it's been mostly tax free. That's one tax that would be less painful for the less wealth off here.

Re: Main tenants vs tenants

The UK is desperate - thanks to brexit and austerity. Australia is probably going to do the same in the next decade if the libs stay in.

Re: Arrested in Singapore for swearing at police officers

My son is a Singapore citizen, if you have bail, regardless of the amount or nationality they will automatically seize your passport. They did his as well and we didn't have to post the bail per se, but did have to secure it with a surety guarantee (his bail was set at $5K). Huh. Ok - well my SC so...
