Re: Looking to make Iranian friends in Singapore

There's an Iranian cafe down near boat key - King Kebab. The owner seems to be a leader in the Iranian community.

Re: PR Rejection

Truth be told, only one is critical - cash. You have that, the rest will follow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I respectfully disagree. There is no critical factor. Cash actually can be contrary to PR as many unsuccessful bankers and finance type applicants can attest to. IF there is a single ...

If you're thinking of a not for profit NGO note that they are extremely tight on hiring foreigners due to Work Permit issues.

Re: Any Australians know how to get a passport for a baby born in SG?

Honestly the Australian Dept of Immi has become SO UNHELPFUL thanks to endless budget cuts and the asinine reactions by Dutton to the refugee people in the last few years I would not risk depending on them for anything, esp with regards to timing. Of course you could leave your bub in Singapore and ...

What's your daughter's first language Simon? There are some Chinese only schools still around in the local system I think.

Re: Any Australians know how to get a passport for a baby born in SG?

You need to register the birth with the AHC and from there get a passport. I'm not surprised they're unhelpful. Given how hard it is and how short on time you are why no give birth in Australia?

Re: Working in Singapore for a UK Company

Another option apart from Pte Ltd is for the UK company to register a "Representative Office" or "Branch Office". The link below has an excellent table breaking down all the issues. https://www.guidemesingapore.com/business-guides/incorporation/foreign-company-registration/singap...

Re: Work visa question

There have been issues previously reported on this forum with cross contamination from issues in Thailand affecting people's EP's ... I suspect it's been more around drugs though.

Re: Let's wildly speculate about who hacked Singhealth and how incompetent the response has been.

Hi BGD. The problem is there is no obvious way to lock down the system (i.e. stop people misusing the data - i.e. a credit freeze or whatever). All it takes is this data and some reasonably good NRIC cards with the data and they can do a lot of harm to your credit - so yes I think they will be tryin...

Let's wildly speculate about who hacked Singhealth and how incompetent the response has been.

I'm up to three letters now to my house addressed to three different people apologising for the hack. They can't even get their own data correct. State actor hacked it? To get at LSL medical data? That's just what the hackers want you to think. In the meantime my NRIC and enough data related to it f...

Vlogin - there is nothing to worry about. Your post had nothing identifiable in it. The local yokels like to hate the more successful FT's who come in and rightly displace their incompetent overpaid asses is all.

Re: Outburst

Suicide is a selfish act. It's also an act where the person assumes they wholly own their body. They don't - so many people have contributed to them over their life. It's not their life to take.

Re: Related to Emigration

It amuses me to see how horrified they are at paying real taxes when they migrate though.... You mean to say citizen have to pay taxes if they want to renounce their citizenship to emigrate? Do you have any statistical information related to those? Oh for crying out loud. Did your mother drop you o...
