Street trees disappearing

So much for green or garden city. Another big beautiful mango tree gone, probably due to some rich arsehole complaining about it blocking something. Since I moved into my neighbourhood we've lost at least 10 big trees including some of the iconic angsana trees. Sometimes they plant replacements but ...

Re: How to apply for PR while on 90 day visit pass?

You need to apply for an LTVP. I doubt you can get PR without being resident and maybe working for about three years first. An LTVP is usually valid for 12.months and if your spouse is a citizen it allows you right to work as well with a Letter Of Consent.

Re: Parents long term Visa

Not really. You need to sponsor them for an LTVP and I think only PR/SC can do that unfortunately.

Re: Short Term Work/Permits needed?

He won't succeed in working here legally with out an EP or SP or WHP unless he works remotely.

He actually 'may' get away with going in every day on an SVP for 30 days and coming back a week later for another 30 days. There are a lot of risks.

Re: Report a safety issue with condo

1. Grounding practice in new condo's is shit IME. Singapore is desperately short of PUB licensed electrical inspectors and it's showing.
2. The margins in the condo business are so tight I'm sure they've gone for the cheapest bidder on the elevator - what brand is it? Noname Guanzhou lift company?

Re: Special Gathering of Eagles

I have a suggestion: The "Chinese Druggists Association" on Thywitt Road. A little small maybe but 28 beers on tap and definitely quieter than the CBD. A shortish walk from Kallang MRT.

Re: Report a safety issue with condo

Try the BCA and SCDF. Both of those have powers of enforcement for these issues. Note that I would focus on the elevator issue with BCA and the lighting issue with SCDF. 10:1 your MC has been delaying required repairs and replacement of the elevator winch / rope etc.

Mom will not give a positive answer until you actually apply. That's their way. They will never pre commit.

Re: Please advice: LTVP or DP? Where to marry?

I just got my EP and I will plan the wedding for the end of next month but Singaporeans are telling me that both DP and LTVP are difficult to be obtained. Is this true? My only concern is that since we will only get married after my EP there is a chance that MOM considers the marriage ''fixed'' onl...
