Re: MOE Waiver for Dual Citizen Child

Spider - in the application you need to be pretty clear as to why your children should be in the FSS. Most commonly accepted reason is that you intend to migrate/leave Singapore. Second most common reason is that your children have not been in the Singapore system at all and will struggle academical...

Re: Safe entry Singapore?

Where should we find the safe entry check out button? When using the safe entry barcode, once you are logged in, I do not see the check out immediately. I always had to click back and click on the link again To check out, you repeat the same procedure that you used to check in. Scan the QR code wit...

Re: Renovation delays in Singapore

My neighbor had his aircons replaced last Friday. Not sure it was legal but as president of the MC he doesn't seem to care about following rules so much.

Re: Masks rules in Singapore?

Absolutely. Very poor message management which is a bit surprising for MOE/MOH (both were involved).

Re: "Entry only if essential international travel" (Tourism is dead!)

Booking.com was showing no change in prices and flashing the usual "1 room left" message for Jakarta even though the whole city was shutdown. Haven't checked recently but PNGMK is right, don't trust the online sites. On a slightly positive note, SIA is restarting flights to NZ this week. Sounds lik...

Re: MOE Waiver for Dual Citizen Child

You apply for the MOE waiver via and with the assistance of the international school you wish to use. You may succeed. We did about 4 years ago but then shifted our daughter to a local school as the international school was failing her academically.

I wouldn't rely too much on hotel reservation websites JGrif. I've seen them chop and change a lot. I've been hanging out for a Raffles Hotel staycation myself and have had two bookings I've had to shift already.

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

My GP told me of a patient who is on WFH. His employer installed software to monitor if the employee is working and he has to explain absences away from the computer during work hours. If he is away for more than 5 minutes the computer starts beeping at him and his boss gets an alert.

Re: Strange encounters

But if you think the Sikh was a ghost, that means you believe in ghosts, don't you? No I don't. The paradox is that ghosts can only be seen by those who don't believe in them. Uh...so if you really don't believe in ghosts, what do you think the Sikh was? Probably what people call a "ghost" but I do...

Re: "Entry only if essential international travel" (Tourism is dead!)

It will come back in a rush as soon as one or two countries open up as the other's won't want to lose out (with perhaps the exception of Australia). By Christmas I expect we will be able to travel to most places.

Re: Caught Shoplifting

Within 3 months I would guess. I think you need to plan for losing your student pass and leaving Singapore (most likely your institution will throw you out).
