Re: Dependent Pass or Long Term Visitor Pass?

DP is the way to go as it lets your wife work. LTVP requires an LOC for that which is troublesome.

Re: Selling Real Estate in Australia - Clearance Certificate

Another report showing why the Oz Govt is trying to get on top of this. https://www.macrobusiness.com.au/2017/03/report-australia-worlds-worst-money-laundering-property-market/ I have multiple friends who own properties in Australian under pseudonyms.... as far as I am aware a land transfer still do...

Well I asked to gauge people's reactions... Singapore is a very cash driven society (much more than Oz).

Are we at risk of breaking money? (Cash top-up at MRT passenger service centres to be phased out by March )

The birdliner reports: Cash top-up services at the passenger service centres (PSC) of train stations will be completely phased out next month (March), completing the first step by authorities to wean commuters off cash to pay for public transport. With the change, cash-paying commuters can no longer...

Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

There must be a couple of contributing factors. I closed my business accounts at UOB in Singapore three years after I left. They were informed of my new overseas residence, I never had an issue with any banking facilities, which I had to use from time to time as I wound down the company. I still ha...

Re: Selling Real Estate in Australia - Clearance Certificate

Great article explaining the changes: https://home.kpmg.com/xx/en/home/insights/2017/09/flash-alert-2017-132.html Thanks. Although it's written by CPA's who (in Australia) are really just risk adverse tax collection agents. I don't see mention of any of the strategies (legal) that I've suggested.

Re: Moving to Singapore as a spouse

Just bang away at networking. You're not likely to get a job via the God awful HR folk here although true talent recruitment might work. Thank you. This is a challenge everywhere indeed. Besides this forum and targeting people who may be interested on LinkedIn, are there any other forums or groups ...

Re: National Service Deferment Procedure in Singapore.

HI.. desperately need advise here. Son just turned 16 in Feb. Understand he will get his NS registration notice soon. Nothing against NS but worried about him when he has to go back for NS alone. We sold our HDB when we left Singapore 8 years ago. No relative back in Singapore and no place to stay ...

Re: Full-time student wanting to bring child

Thank you for your reply. So can I just register my child for a local kindergarten once I got accepted for the Masters programme so it gets a student pass? And how about the dependent pass? Will the university sponsor my child to come on a dependent pass? Who can I ask to know for sure about this ....

Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

Your bank account will time out eventually without residency I'm afraid. The payment gateway issue is a big battle ground right now. You only have to see how successful wechat and alipay are in China to wonder why whatsapp and FB haven't a simar micro payment system. I'm sure we will see something s...
