Re: No more public drinking and retail of alcohol post 10.30
That's going to kill that cesspool of what Clarke Quay has become, the bridge that is now completely full of BYOBers on any given weekend. So maybe it's a good thing. I suspect the issue runs deeper, but any action will only address the most public bits. For example, I can walk down to my suburban ...

I watched it a few times. I think the biker was an idiot for rising up to the frustrated car driver's taunt as he sped off at the traffic light. In the end he's the one facing jail time now. This is typical here: people inch forward on the red light trying to get an advantage. Bikers should think of...

I just clocked 10,000km of riding a 1,700CC motorcycle in Singapore. Although the residents' driving style took a while to get used to, I don't feel it's particularly bad at all. (Mind you I was born in Italy) Like anywhere else, if you are on a motorcycle you should assume you are invisible to traf...

As far as I know it's no longer in force. (and I ride 10,000km a year just in Singapore)PNGMK wrote:I remember in the late 90's ... pretty sure it was here in 2000... but since 2005 I haven't seen it. In the old days bikes were meant to keep left. Does anyone know why or when it changed? Not that I care.

The accumulation of wealth at the top has now gotten to a stage where there is no opportunity for those at the bottom of the pyramid, as they start off with a disadvantage too big to bridge. What on earth does that mean? :???: It sounds as if you are suggesting that there is a fixed supply of money...

Trickle down economics don't work as intended. It's more like a trickle-up effect. I just watched a documentary called "Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream", and although it's far too left-leaning for my taste, it does touch on important points http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/park-avenue...

Sad to hear about the Malaysia plane. I'm also bracing myself for people over-reacting and blaming the airline considering any plane could have been shot down by flying through a conflict zone. The responsibility lies with those who did not close out an area where ground-to-air missile batteries are...

For what it's worth, before getting my current bike I looked into importing a used one from the UK vs buying new or used here. In the end heart ruled head and I went for a used HD Street Glide here, with 8 years COE left. To substantiate what SE said about riding the Honda in traffic, big bikes with...

quick update: after passing my test I went to convert my UK licence and the auntie at the counter did give me the full (no more than 400cc) story But since I rode there on my bike (1690cc) I produced all documentation (insurance, ownership, et cetera) and she converted it to the unlimited class. Hop...

They did a real number on him on TRS and he's probably going to end up pulling an Anton Casey, but I reckon he had it coming. Really now. Rants about drivers here notwithstanding, this scooter guy made two irreversible errors, one to stop there, even for a moment, and two not having the good sense ...

Breakfast @ T3 airport : 12$ for a donut, croissant latte from dunkin donuts lol latte tastes like hot water, at least provide some quality ? That's not so bad considering that at OSL airport 3 slices of medium sized Pizzas from Pizzahut + 1 medium Pepsi costs $35 SGD! I'm currently in Budapest now...
