OK - honestly thought the effort to switch is too much for me.
You just have to email Sembcorp and tell them to transfer you to SP Wholesale and they will handle everything. There is 2 months lead time though.

I use Sembcorp but will look at SP wholesale later (I have no lock in period).
Search for HWZ OEM. They have done tonnes of research on it and have stats for 2 years now and SP Wholesale prices have consistently been cheaper than the lowest OEM price.

Re: Singapore on brink of 60,000-strong tech jobs boom.

WD40 aren't you one of the refugees of that program? By that I mean one of ones who didn't get PR but has managed to hang on here? Yes :) But program is still on and people are still coming. But no PR. That was a short window for people from 2006-08 when maximum PRs were given. I came to Singapore ...

Re: How much is ur utilities bill during the wfh period

Since 3 months now we are getting estimated bills, based on the old average prior to Covid. We will be in for a major shock once the reading is actually taken. You see the * for Apr, May, Jun? That means estimated: https://i.imgur.com/NrfGias.jpg By the way, do you guys use OEM for electricity. Look...

Having an upto date linkedIn profile does more harm than good. If you are not looking for a job change, there is no need to keep your profile updated.

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

My GP told me of a patient who is on WFH. His employer installed software to monitor if the employee is working and he has to explain absences away from the computer during work hours. If he is away for more than 5 minutes the computer starts beeping at him and his boss gets an alert. I am working ...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

@WD40, so you statement was just because you have only one kid and a wife to serve you. Life can be quite different for 2 full time working parents with more than one kid like P1 kids just got school started. So calling others liars or losers whose jobs are at risk is a bit narrow minded and judgem...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

I think if (A) the majority of our tasks allow for independent work, (B) we have the tech support we need, and (C) we don't have to juggle childcare demands at the same time, WFH is definitely the better choice... unless you're an extrovert and need people around to boost your energy levels lol. Li...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

Wd40, quite a generalisation from just your own experience. If you have a bad office environment without privacy areas and a job which doesn't need much collaboration with others, it doesn't mean all other offices and jobs are all like that. Also sounds like you were not allowed to work from home e...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

WFH needs lots of discipline! Easily will drift off to the bed, TV, games and more ... Agree with the others that WFH + HBL for kids = nightmare!!! This is why we cannot have good things. I am shocked by your statement. Are you saying this about yourself or about others? This means, you cannot be t...

Re: Will home sellers lower prices?

I do see people still holding up their prices really well and High...market still not affecting them I guess. It is too early to see any impact. 1st rents need to fall due to rising vacancies. Right now, most affected are workers from F&B, Tourism etc those at the lowest level who stay in dormitori...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

I personally love WFH. The amount of time saved in the commute and the lunch is huge. That is like 2 and half hours added. How can that not be improvement in productivity? I personally find it more productive, that I can go and lock myself in the room and focus on my work. In office, it is always no...

Are you going to renegotiate your rent?

It is now a renter's market. We know a lot of commercial tenants are invoking Force Majeure and skipping their rent payments. I wonder how is it on the residential side? Are you guys still paying the overpriced old rents?
