Re: Is Experience/ Relieving Letter mandatory?

I have experience letters from 3 companies in Singapore. 2 of then global banks and 1 local bank. So it is not an Indian thing. I have also used these as supporting documents for my Singapore PR application. It is probably the US that is different.

Re: So damn confusing is the visa extension rules !! need some help

I used to do most weekends, Sg to Malaysia. It does fill up the passport pretty quickly. Had to replace mine early, but they do add the remaining time onto the new one. :D I don't know about the rest of your question but every second day will look like work, I suspect he will run into problems at s...

Citizenship also matters a lot. People from certain countries may face higher scrutiny than others. So don't go by what you read online. What worked for them may not work for you.

Re: Whats going on at SMRT

Is this one off, or the beginning of something big? I mean is it the start of a new trend of structural decline of Singapore? The man who created Singapore is no more already, so I wonder how long is all this going to last? In any case I have zero exposure to Singapore dollar or Singapore assets. My...

Re: Average duration of stay of expats in Singapore?

My EP has been approved again for another 3 years. Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk My EP used to only be renewed for 2 years at a time. Then after 5 years of living in SG they made me a PR. They made you a PR, or you applied as was granted PR? Big difference. In fact I've never hear of any...

Re: An Interesting Take on Singapore Growth

I am curious how is the economy, job market etc these days? It has been sometime since the tightening of work passes started. But now I hear, that it is being relaxed a bit and companies have found workarounds, for example they hire really low level locals at intern levels and pay them a basic salar...

Re: Exploring good school for indian kids moving from US

Local schools are very difficult to get for foreigners, so forget this option. Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk Your recommended Intl School is ? :D No offense, honest question. Seems Nexus and Dimensions are also attracting Indian kids ! Do you know more about Dimensions? Dimensions appare...

Re: Average duration of stay of expats in Singapore?

For me as long as it makes financial sense, I will stay in SG. I am not sure SG likes me that much. My daughter's PR applications have been rejected. Our family's citizenship application has been rejected (17 years in SG + 12 years PR for me). When our daughter's P1 registration for local school fa...

I hope THAT doesn't make it to ASS. And get interpreted differently [emoji14]
What other interpretation is possible? It is so clear.

Re: Average duration of stay of expats in Singapore?

Another question I have, my role has been pretty stagnant in the 8 years I have been here. This is by my choice though, I am not those ambitious career oriented types. Although I have had to change 4 companies. My salary went up by about 30% in this time mainly because of a one time big jump from c...

Re: Average duration of stay of expats in Singapore?

I think the biggest hindrance with staying on EP is that you have to leave the country within one month if you lose your job. With this kind of uncertainty, how can you really plan long term like buy a house, car etc? In the gulf, I believe you can stay longer even if you lose your job. People there...
