Re: PR or LVTP - Spouse of SG Cit - Unique Situation

I'd say go for all options. Apply for PR it will take some time to get it processed and hopefully approved as long as you've been married at least 2 years. Try to get a transfer to Singapore or if that doesn't work get there on LTVP or is it LTVP+ for spouse, and get a local job under it while waiti...

Re: today is the last day for topping up CPF/SRS and Jan 1 is the first day to top up again

you can have higher limits for PayNow, just did this week 3k for the medisave topup. you just need to make your limits higher. at least UOB allows that. 1000 might be the default. Yeah 1000 is the default but Maybank won't change it for me. You must be in their high risk drinking and gambling profi...

Re: Will teeth shift after braces?

That is usually the main culprit for crowding that moves teeth around after braces. Some people don’t even know they’ve got wisdom teeth. If you’ve had all four removed and the teeth still moved significantly after braces, then that is really a mystery! Not that we need to solve mysteries here, but...

Re: Will teeth shift after braces?

It was ok when I was 16 and all the way till my early 30s then I noticed starting to shift. Or well maybe it happened little by little earlier but didn't pay attention. So no didn't do anything any more. Now reaching 50 don't really care that much any more. Did you have all four of your wisdom teet...

Re: Will teeth shift after braces?

Yes it can happen. And did happen to me, the lower incisors namely. Happened slowly but I know I'm not the only one. And could get them fixed again if I still cared. Upper teeth no issues.

Re: today is the last day for topping up CPF/SRS and Jan 1 is the first day to top up again

Thanks again. Yes, checked the additional conditions for the topping up other accounts, if spouse is working and has an income over 5k per year. So practically it means that only applicable to stay home spouse. And with 2 kids and parents tax deductions, wife already maxed out to 80k tax deductions....

Re: The Bitcoin topic that Wd40 wanted :)

Bitcoin over 33kusd today, that's some crazy jump, tripled in 3 months. I think I need to find access to that account I had 3-4 years ago. Not much left there but something I had and now at least could buy a good meal with drinks with it

Re: today is the last day for topping up CPF/SRS and Jan 1 is the first day to top up again

PNGMK, sorry to bug you again, but did I get it correctly that if I top up medisave by 3k to 63k now. I can still top up 7k on my SA and both will be fully tax deductible (total 10k). Or is it total 7k only (3k medisave and can only add 4k to SA)? BTW you guys are absolutely right that this stuff di...

Re: today is the last day for topping up CPF/SRS and Jan 1 is the first day to top up again

no worries PNGMK. Just asked in case you happen to know. You are correct, she's not in cpf life, born earlier than that cut off date. What I look at cpf faqs, I interpret it this way: -I can do the cash top up, and upto 7k$ it will be tax deductible to me (this is a good this as long as I keep my in...

Re: today is the last day for topping up CPF/SRS and Jan 1 is the first day to top up again

Thanks PNGMK for the timely reminder. I've been a bit lazy on paying attention on this but started to make those 7k tax deductible additional contributions recently. But now looking at the additional 7k one, which I can't make to my wife as she works and makes money. But wondering if it makes sense ...

Re: Aircon Usage - Utility Bills - Best Practices

Difficult to say, and this year is probably a bit special due to remote working still being the norm. But kids come back home from school and home aircons go on, etc. So the demand peaks might be very short as it seems. But not important enough to change behaviour as most don't have that pricing mod...

Re: Aircon Usage - Utility Bills - Best Practices

Now that I looked a bit more it's really the weekday afternoon when the price jumps up all the way to 80-90c. So for night time Aircon users it probably will be a good deal.
