Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

Yep, but currently it's gonna be hard to become a superspreader with the lack of big events. A few people at void deck or smoking at yellow square won't give good chances.

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

No, obviously not. But if the drink driving problem was getting worse should reach to it stronger, campaigns, mandatory alco locks to all cars etc. Otherwise continue as currently. now if Corona is not spreading much, should we make more stricter rules and more controls and panic about a few people ...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

Hopefully people realise to start looking for a better place to work if you are treated like shit. I wouldn't think that kind of companies would have the best new candidates applying for jobs. New generation youngsters have quite a lot of expectations from the job and working environment. Maybe olde...

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

Sure x9200, I would say for the sake of argument with you that yes, homicides in Singapore have no major impact in the society here, very rare, which is of course great. Obviously then when someone is killed it has a big impact to that family. But don't think comparing that to CB rule breakers is re...

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

A few people in a what few thousand people hdb block. I would still call it a small fraction, would it reach 1,% of population ? Obviously not a big impact as the spreading is 0-5 cases per day now outside of the dormitories. So not a big impact those rule breakers are having. So either it doesn't m...

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

I think (forgive me if I am incorrect) sms meant Singaporeans cannot be trusted to act responsibly (in context of masks), not Singaporeans are not to be trusted in a more literal sense. Yes, I assume it was more in general about all the CB rules, wearing masks being one of the items only. And that'...

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

Singaporeans, by far and large, cannot be trusted. There has been enough online vids and pics as proof of that. If they were smart they would eat at their desks even though some employers forbid it in the past. So if by your opinion Singaporeans cannot be trusted to follow the rules, who in this wo...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

@WD40, so you statement was just because you have only one kid and a wife to serve you. Life can be quite different for 2 full time working parents with more than one kid like P1 kids just got school started. So calling others liars or losers whose jobs are at risk is a bit narrow minded and judgeme...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

Wd40, quite a generalisation from just your own experience. If you have a bad office environment without privacy areas and a job which doesn't need much collaboration with others, it doesn't mean all other offices and jobs are all like that. Also sounds like you were not allowed to work from home ea...

Re: Are you for a targeted lock-down or a full lock-down?

A reasonably neutral summary of Sweden's current state: www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2020/05/23/swedens-gamble-on-coronavirus-has-it-paid-off/amp/ Not very convincing results as such, of course it is true that people were free to hangout at bars and restaurants if that is your major target or me...

Re: Are you for a targeted lock-down or a full lock-down?

Sweden had a massive infection in Stockholm/greater metropolitian area in the Elderly homes. In fact I believe 40% of the total deaths thus far were in those homes. On the other hand in Finland next door also big chunk of the deaths are in a few elderly homes in Helsinki area, 30% or more of the to...

Re: Are you for a targeted lock-down or a full lock-down?

I guess we would need to have your definition of targeted lock down. Seems like we are talking about different things, could you explain what kind of lock down targeted or other you think Sweden has or had?

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

WFH suits for certain tasks and can be more productive. But working from home with small kids doing HBL at same time is an absolute nightmare.

Re: Are you for a targeted lock-down or a full lock-down?

I would of course prefer target lockdown. But what that has to do with Sweden? I definitely wouldn't prefer the let's let the old people die approach they have had.

Re: When do you think Singapore will open its borders?

That's your doomsday theory. I am pretty sure it won't happen, air travel will start opening up slowly. For the death rate in Singapore that is less than traffic kills, will not justify to kill the economy for ever. So the opening up will come in steps and we'll be mostly free to travel sooner rathe...
