It's either the country of entry, or where you will stay the longest. Also, most countries don't have visa facilities. Greece is helped by France, Norway by Denmark and so on. I would go with France any day. Just speak first few words in French (Bonjour/ Salut, comment allez vous will be a good star...

The salary for Tier-1 MBA schools and/or Tier-1 financial firms tend to be minimum $135K+Bonuses for first year post-MBA associate. That equates to c. $11K + bonus on a per months basis. I don't know for Tier-2 s...

Hey Sergei,

Where in Smith St is that place for today's drinks? I cannot find it on Google maps, which mistakenly takes me to Newton area (yes, I'm advertising my company very well!)

Wow, it'll be just over a year from first post to the meetup. Gotta admire the tenacity ;)

I'll be game for a drink on 20th, though an uninvited suggestion: make the drink on 13th- exactly a year from your first post.

Re: Moving to Singapore from UK... HELP!

Notify the UK?: Yes, http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cnr/p85_p85s.htm Evidencing residency-status for tax liability is potentially important... I disagree, although no harm in doing so. When I left the UK, didn't inform HMRC or any Govt dept. One can specify this in their year end filing, no need to add ano...

I'm surprised there are arguments on this thread for someone making a small $400 good faith deposit and then changing their mind and now complaining.

Good faith deposit is called so for a reason.

I agree with ZZM. IMO, the good faith deposit is hers to keep if you change your mind. If that were not the case, the agents/landlords will continue to show places right until the documents were sign - clearly not possible. In addition, $400 is not that big a money in the larger schema of things. I ...
