Boxes in and around the city area are usually all taken up. It doesn't matter which bank you go to.
HSBC does offer safe deposit boxes. I know because my friend had wanted to keep those hideous jewelry she received at her wedding from her parents and in laws there (...forever). lol...

As for weight, it'll be below 500g. Maybe about 300-400g. If anyone can suggest a cheaper way to courier the stuff over, I'm eternally grateful.
I believe the cheapest would be via regular airmail.
Probably will cost you less than $15 including registration.
