Most pets here are sold in the commercial petshops, there isn't much of an established market of private breeders... So if the purchase doesn't work out immediately for you, you could also consider a visit to the local animal shelters, like SPCA, for adoption or even to volunteer.

Oh boy I don't think it's available here. I have been searching for it for quite a while too, no success yet. Thinking of ordering from online, or bribing a friend to bring it here for me from Germany/Austria.

I would recommend you South Australia/Victoria as it has a good mix of cityscape (Melbourne), nature (the Grampians, Great Ocean Road) and wine (Yarra valley, Coonawarra)! Man I miss that place already...
Do you mean the Tiffin Room at Raffles? ;) But many other hotels here offer High Tea buffets too. For instance, the Rose Veranda at the Shangri-La is very popular for its range of teas, pastries, cakes and scones. You could also check out The Helping Hand. It's a VWO that helps in the rehab of former drug addicts and reintegration into society; the teakwood is imported from Indonesia but all the furniture is handmade locally... Good to do a bit of charity at the same time as you do up your home
