Re: Advice about visa for my child

If you are not qualified to apply for a dependent pass for your child, then it is probable that your child's student pass application will not be successful except if you can prove other sources of income outside of singapore or other sources of support outside of singapore (e.g. the other parent wh...

Re: Public School in Singapore for Foreigners

Look at the MOE website for school registration procedures for foreigners. To summarize, P1 must go through P1 registration exercise which has 3 phases. Foreigners are on phase 3 where most of the slots have already been taken. P2-P5 must go through the AEIS route. Basically, your child takes the A...

Re: Company details of employment in SG citizenship application

For my application, I got this info from our HR and submitted it. Our HR department is used to employees who go for SC application and has readied this info for our use. But we are a public company. I am not sure how it is with private companies.

Re: Average duration of stay of expats in Singapore?

For me as long as it makes financial sense, I will stay in SG. I am not sure SG likes me that much. My daughter's PR applications have been rejected. Our family's citizenship application has been rejected (17 years in SG + 12 years PR for me). When our daughter's P1 registration for local school fai...

Quoted from wiki. Please validate with ICA — If the parent from whom the child derives citizenship is a Singaporean citizen by registration, the child will be granted Singaporean citizenship by descent only if they do not acquire citizenship of the country of their birth. — Sent from my iPhone usin...

I think you have a decent chance.
If not now, for sure, after getting married.

Re: Student Visa Inquiry

Singapore has cracked down on these type of institutions so you will find it hard to use them to extend your stay. I think you need to find another plan B.

Re: Exploring good school for indian kids moving from US

Hi, My Daughter is studying in Grade 3 in india, but will be shifting to singapore shortly. I would highly appreciate if anyone can suggest a good school here for indian kids and with a budget less than 500$ per month fees. In terms of your preferred school fees, local schools will fit the bill but...

Re: ICA PR application eappointment strange phenomena

Sometimes they do release additional slots.
Sometime last February, I looked into the e-appointment and found multiple slots from a few days away up to 6 months away. I booked a slot that was a month away. Just keep looking at e-appointments and you might get lucky.

Re: Filipino Web Developer chances of landing a job?

It is very difficult but not impossible to land a job and to get an employment pass approved with no employment history. You can try to network and get the first foot in through referrals.

Re: Moving to Singapore and Long term prospects

I understand where you are coming from SMS but I believe it is not that bad. Some individual executives or managers for sure will have their biases but as a whole Singapore is still a go-to place to further one's career and the level of discrimination is not a deal breaker for many people.

Re: Moving to Singapore and Long term prospects

Thanks for the replies guys. It sucks, but it is what it is.... I guess every one living in Sg has accepted this fact and live on. No laws here saying they have to give a position to the most qualified person. But Im sure that there must be some law or something in constitution which preaches no di...
