Re: PR chances for foreigner

Unless you are a ultra high net worth individual or someone with special distinction in science, arts or industry, I believe your chances are low. But these are just guesses based on anecdotal evidence, so you can always proceed to take a chance.

Re: PR Status pending - 20 months for dependant daughter

For non-Malaysian dependent PR applicants whose parents were approved before 2009, there is a less than 50% chance of approval in my opinion. My own daughter's latest application was rejected after 14 months. My profile is Filipino, PR since 2005. Applied for SC as a family two years ago but also re...

Re: Resale home prices not coming down?

I am not an expert but there is probably some pressure on prices from overseas. In spite of ABSD, Singapore is still a safe haven for assets compared to neighboring countries. With the different central banks QE policies plus low interest rates, there is a lot of cash worldwide looking for a home.

Re: Receiving telemarketing calls everyday

I have always received automated calls in Chinese where i can hear the word "DHL". I just end the call knowing about the DHL scam. They recently upgraded to English to cater to non-Chinese "clients".

Re: switching from employment pass to PR. How would my take home pay change due to CPF ?

Some employers force their employees to sign contracts in which the employees official salary will become lower upon PR to take into account the employer cpf contribution. This is so that the employer's actual salary expense will not increase. This is not legal. I have heard stories of this from th...

Re: switching from employment pass to PR. How would my take home pay change due to CPF ?

Without any special agreement with your employer and assuming that your salary did not change during PR approval, your new take home pay will be salary - employee cpf contribution. The employer will be contributing the employer cpf contribution to your cpf. In the first two years of PR, both the emp...

Re: PR renewal for 50+ Years & Employment

I am not sure. We have heard from some that after a certain age, PR renewal is not required. It may be best for you to check with ICA to confirm this with emphasis on your being a PR under the PTS scheme.

Re: citizenship rejected after 19months

To be a good candidate for citizenship, you will need to reestablish your residency by being gainfully employed in Singapore. I think any appeal will not work while you are overseas unless you have an extraordinary profile that can potentially be beneficial to Singapore. Your very last statement wil...

Re: General advise on citizenship waiting time

You should have a decent chance since your PR was approved at a time when approvals are very rare for the "others" category. I am assuming that your son is included in the application.

As far as I know, the MOM medical does not check for Hep B. Maybe you will need to ask MOM for confirmation. The link below is for WP holders:

Re: Currently EP holder. If I quit my job now and reapply for new job in the future does it make me harder to get pass?

Each application will depend on its own merits, whether the pass applied, position and salary is commensurate with your education and experience and whether the company is qualified to hire you. The fact that you changed jobs will not by itself make it harder for you to be approved.
