Re: Pte. set-up. Have to engage a registered filing agent?

I am a foreigner, UK, worked in Sg past 10 years (EP), now unemployed. Presently in Sg on 3 month tourist visa. My question: can I and a resident nominee director incorporate a Pte. company without engaging the services of a registered filing agent? Do I need to seek approval from MOM before regist...

Re: Best and reliable company incorporation service company in Singapore

Thanks Coming Soon and StrongEagle, Is it not a mandatory procedure by ACRA that a company incorporation services firn need to be engaged for registering a new company in Singapore? Regards If you are already local then I think you can do it by yourself. There's no requirement to use a company inco...

Re: Best and reliable company incorporation service company in Singapore

I wouldn't worry about the incorporation aspect of the work. It's hard to mess up registering a company. Usually when an accounting firm does the incorporation they take on a lot of other tasks, too. They'll do your accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, corporate secretary, and so on. These tasks are im...

It's hard to give a meaningful answer without knowing if it is real. Does the email address have ".gov.sg" at the end?

Re: Magistrate Complaint

In general terms, if this is for real, would i be in trouble if i want to visit SG somedays? If it is real the information in the email should confirm it, one way or another. What is the domain used in the email address? If it is a court or police email then it should have a ".gov.sg" TLD. If it do...

Re: Need help with Small Claims Tribunal

The TA states that the unit must be returned in tenantable condition. The LL takes this as "everything as how it was handed over". Do you think their opinion will stand in SCT? The LL has asked for almost $3k to fix 'defects'. I disagree with the amount and also disagree with the list of defects. T...

Re: chances of getting EP

While applying for the EP I will be giving my personal details such as cv, certificates, previous employer testimonials but how can I prove that the I will be reviving the company with new business plan to MOM, do I have to submit a business plan. I don't know the criteria MOM uses, but I imagine t...

Re: Bespoke Shirts / Suits

I also found Mode Et Creation in Orchard to be pretty good value. For shirts I prefer Grand City (cheaper, great fabric selection), but Anthony at Mode Et Creation is worth a look. I only had a shirt done there, but he's probably pretty good for suits. http://www.modeetcreation.com Would definitely ...

Re: Bespoke Shirts / Suits

I found Grand City to be a pretty good deal. They are in the middle of no where. But they appear to do the production for a lot of the tailors in town on a white label basis. They don't do suits (I think). https://www.singapore-tailor-guide.info/tailor-directory/grand-city/ I don't remember how much...

Re: Tax: Corporate vs Income

Thank you for the feedback. Possible to elaborate why you classify that scenario as a 'scam' ? From what I have read from IRAS websites, that scenario is 100% legal in Singapore, unless I am interpreting the tax systems there incorrectly? I think there are two points that are being suggested, and a...

Re: Setting up of a company by an EP Holder

Hi, Not an expert, but I think it'll be tough to do what you are suggesting. Here's why: First, a company needs to be older than 6 months to apply for EP for the Director. Otherwise Entrepass is required. False. You can form a company and immediately apply for an EP for the director. Second, if you...

Re: General stuff, tailor, food stores

Hi all Just moved to SG Can anyone recommend a good tailor Cheers Finding a good tailor is REALLY hard. There are no shortage of shops but I think most of them get their work done outside the country. There isn't a lot of 'tailoring' - just a few measurements and you get what you get. There are lot...

Re: Referral to an insurance agent

My wife and I are looking for life / savings products in the short-term as we now have children. We need to balance out our portfolio a little better as well as plan / mitigate for risks in the future. Hi Brian, In the quoted part above it sounds as though you are looking for a combination investme...
