Re: Anyone ever bring dog via cabin to SG from the UK/Ireland/Aus/NZ??

Short answer is yes you can bring a dog from Ireland with minimal paperwork and effort. I brought one over for a family member and all she had to pay was the excess baggage charges and show proof of vaccinations. However, I would strongly advise against relocating a dog here from Ireland if you have...

Re: English Teach Abroad in Singapore--does this exist?

1 - I think this is a myth. I've been here 8 years and never come across it. There are many opportunities in neighbouring countries, so you could possibly base yourself on one of those countries then hop on a plane here a couple times a month? 2 - No chance right now, unless you are with a company t...

Re: EP Cancellation and Job Search. Logistics?

Folks, Quick update and also a question.. Student passes approved :D They did ask why I was applying as they already had DP's. Told them the truth and they were approved the next day. Plan now is to go to Oz for Christmas and come back when school starts in Jan, put herself on an LTVP as guardian fo...

Re: EP Cancellation and Job Search. Logistics?

Pass holders who have a fixed monthly salary of at least $5,000, are eligible for a Dependant’s Pass for their spouse and children. From 1 January 2018, work pass holders will need to meet a minimum salary criteria of $6,000 to enjoy dependant privileges. Yep - the plan is to hopefully get S pass a...

Re: EP Cancellation and Job Search. Logistics?

First up get your children a student pass each and your wife a "study momma" pass - that will hold off any issues with the school and they will have no issue getting the student pass. Tell the landlord you may need to invoke the diplomatic clause but you are hoping to start a new role before and yo...

Thanks, yep I'm aware of that. They would be in Australia for as long as I don't have an EP. I would pay the fees in their absence to ensure they have a place if/when we return.

EP Cancellation and Job Search. Logistics?

Hi All, Need some advice. My last day at current company will be December 15, on which date my EP will be cancelled. I am currently interviewing for positions in SG and they are slowly progressing, but realistically if I am offered a role it will probably be some time after Jan 14, when my 30 days p...

Re: Whitening injection/drip

Genuine question here. Why do you all want to be white? Are you afraid that if you don't whiten up, people will think you work in fields? Do you find white skin to be more attractive? Do you think Men do? Are you so insecure in your own skin that you want it to be another color? It's a massive indus...

Re: Help!! Apply EP & SPass/WP at the same time

Drop all contact with the company ASAP. You are not going to get an EP and they said they will not apply for an s-pass for you. Say everything DOES work out and you somehow end up in Singapore working for them. How do you think they will treat you? Forget them, forget that job and move on. Best of l...

Re: Help!! Apply EP & SPass/WP at the same time

You will not get the employment pass.
Below is from MOM website
From 1 January 2017, new EP applicants will have to earn a fixed monthly salary of $3,600 or more, depending on their qualifications and experience.
If they don't apply for an spass for you you will not get the job.

Re: How long did it take to relocate?

You're welcome.
Also, strongly recommend you and your other half come out here for a week or so to get a feel for the place - where you want to live, schools, etc. It's invaluable.

Re: Moving to Singapore

I live on the east coast by the beach and it's pretty cool. Others prefer Holland area in the city, others like it out west. It's very hard to tell you where to go, but one thing I didn't do and should have before I moved here, was to visit in advance and scope out the areas that I liked online. Sug...

Re: Employment Notice Period

I'm not a lawyer or in HR, but if they didn't give you a contract to sign how can they hold you accountable for the notice period, which is a contractual term?
