Best and cost-effect vacuum storage / packing bags

I have been using vacuum bags from Takashimaya, which are ok but pricey.

Apparently IKEA have such bags that are better priced and large sizes, but for some reason are not sold in Singapore.

I'm looking for options besides Daiso (I could find only smaller bags) and Takashimaya (cost).

Moving out cleaners

Any recommendations for cleaning people to do the pre-handover apartment cleaning?

Prefer ones who won't cost an arm and a leg....

Re: Moving Companies to US?

Related question - do any of the used furniture places take away furniture without charging, what is the best way to get rid of furniture cheaply that is still good?

Re: Moving Companies to US?

Has anyone used or heard of people using DHL or FedEx to move certain items? Such as 30kg containers of books, papers or clothes.

I have heard that this could be a cheaper alternative to using one of the Big Five moving/shipping company for sea freight.

Re: Moving Companies to US?

Thanks for that update, very good to know. Am currently debating whether to ship or sell furniture.

Not sure if they do this, but want to see about variable quotations - with and without certain large items.

Re: Moving Companies to US?

Thanks to Strong eagle for his reply, that is one for Allied Pickfords - is there any other feedback on other carries to the US?

Bring or buy phones to the US?

From what I remember hearing or reading, smartphones in the US are or were locked and certain features disabled or governed by the carriers. Is this still the case, and, would it be better and or cheaper to buy an unlocked phone in Singapore for use in US, assuming it has the right bands? Any risks ...

Moving Companies to US?

I have seen threads over the years on people's experience with moving companies (for moves out of Singapore) specifically to the US. As this information tends to develop over time, information in older threads may not be up-to-date. The forum has some good information on moving to Aus but I reckon t...

Re: Where to buy second-hand smartphones?

Here's my update based on the recommendations here. The sale at Challenger is for floor models, and, as SMS said, for members. I was a member for years and never got anything out of my points, lost them all when my subscription expired. Was back there recently to buy some storage, the cheaper member...

Re: Where to buy second-hand smartphones?

Thanks will check Naranjan, though there are some negative comments about them on hardwarezone and their own FB page - seems they don't give warranties.

For Xiomi, where is the best place to buy these? I don't think Challenger sells them.

Re: Where to buy second-hand smartphones?

Thanks for the information. Both look like affordable, which is quite important now. As I am not a phone geek, for the Asus Go, is this an issue for Singapore?: "it seems to lack 4G LTE capabilities". The ASUS and others sounds like a great reason to make a trip to Challenger. I know some people see...

Where to buy second-hand smartphones?

Was considering a second phone and to save money in the process. Looking for a place to get one. Naturally SimLim and Funan come to mind, but as with those places so does come the potential of getting ripped off, especially a foreigner. Usually the ideal of getting someone else's phone seems a bit c...
