Re: Issues with renting in Braddell View

It's compulsory to provide NRIC/work pass to owner when rent a place. This is to prevent the person will do illegal thing in the house. :^o In your case, the owner is too scare to get you move in without providing work pass. Your copy of passport should be sufficient enough before your work pass re...

Re: Tenancy agreements/leases and your rights as a tenant

I am renting a room within a HDB flat, living with landlord. The 1-year contract was ended in December 2017. I continue to pay rent to the landlord. Nothing was signed to extend the tenancy. My questions are: 1) Is my landlord breaking any rule because nothing was signed to extend the tenancy? 2) I...

Re: Renting from overseas

Tell him to catch a budget flight for the weekend and he can do the search then, 2-3 trips and he can find a good place and get a feeling of the agent, on top of that he can search . or any other listing site to get a feel of the prices and compare it with URA as mentioned above. Before i arrived he...

Re: Services Expat Expect from their property agents

Dear folks, just wondering what kind of services or related additional services you think expats in Singapore would expect from their "ideal" property agent? You mean besides finding a place, checking the title and contract, negotiating the contract and submitting the stamp duty? Sent from m...

Accommodation Dilemma!!

You can rent a place here for 6 months... just need to look, it doesn’t have to be a 2 year contract for a condo.

Re: Help with US visa payment in Singapore (for reward)

Well, from my personal experience, I scheduled an interview 2 days after I had a paid slip. You'll have to stay here anyway, once for the interview and the second time to collect your passport - processing time is 3-5 business days if it is approved, so why not make a holiday out of it? You also wil...

Re: Help with US visa payment in Singapore (for reward)

Please read their directions for online payment at the US in Singapore embassy website.
I do not know if any foreign payment method would work, but you can try.
Besides, you can schedule interviews here couple of days in advance as well as do the payment only after the interview.

Re: Help with US visa payment in Singapore (for reward)

As I recall there is no such requirement for being a local to pay.
You download the payment slip from their website, go to the post office and pay.
You can do that yourself.

Please check US Embassy website in Singapore, they have instructions.

Re: Letter of intent

Thanks. This clause is missing. The agent is from ERA, is this purely a case of buyer beware or is there any recourse; i.e. bad faith from the agent, or anything similar that can be used as a basis of complaint or to get out of the LOI? Seems this is more a case of bad faith, as what Pal wrote is a...

Re: Renting out Condo Apartement

I am looking to rent out my condo apt as I am moving out of Singapore. I have already found a tenant who leaves in the same condo, so I am looking at going without agent. I need to get the tenancy agreement signed and inform the condo management. 1. Do I need to register the agreement through IRAS ...
