Just because a person posts something, it doesn't mean he's contributing. Sometimes, it can be quite the opposite. So if you say something like SQ's hiring, please back it up with something, even if it's really from your nasi lemak seller, then we'd be able to judge for ourselves how much weight to ...

Shivas, Write to me...I can get you into Air Asia if you want..cheers! As a pilot? That will be quite a feat, since I'm not aware of any ab-initio programme in Airasia, and they are not going to put a PPL holder into an A320 conversion. The best that they can do probably is to extend a tentative of...

Jencrs is not interested in the 'problems' we have with some posters he merely made a comment. Saying somebody is 'just a tech crew' came across as insulting. Exactly! We have all tried and failed at something in our lives and some have returned to try again sometimes successfully sometimes not. Yu...

I don't know the history behind the lovefest in the past few posts, and I certainly take no sides, but I just want to highlight a couple of things in your post. (not just a tech crew) Just a tech crew? Is there a scale where I can measure my worth as a pilot (military or commercial) that I'm not awa...

shivas77: Someone mentioned airasia. Airlines like these are very unlikely to take you in if you didn't get thru seletar. The only ones I know who were terminated and went over were all 2nd officers at the time of their training/termination at SIA/Cargo. So...... what to do??? You could go the long ...

Re: =)

My best friend has a friend who father is head of department for cabin crew (or something like that), she told her those hotel (mass) interview is not easy to get in compare to people who are shortlisted to STC for interviews as they filter most of the "unwanted" ones and give chance to t...

In general, 2 chances 1st interview, only 1 chance after that, unless you've improved yourself in some way. But things might be much more strict now, in this economic climate.

After lasik, you'd have to wait 1 year before SIA will consider you.

I applied last week thru the SIA website but got rejected. Don't know why. :( I got a Engineering diploma, my 'o' levels results are B3 above, only thing is I am 33 this year and wear glasses with one eye about 250 degrees, the other 300 degrees. Is that why I got rejected?? It is almost certainly ...

Re: Hi

Ooo..SIA announced on shorter working month..One day COMPULSORY LEAVE NO PAY LEAVE.....finally its realized! One Day No pay doesnt do much losses to pilots anyway.... The deal between pilots and SIA hasn't been finalised yet. But it will happen soon. Don't forget, this 1 day is IN ADDITION to the r...

Basic pay is not that much. Most of your pay will be from allowances.

How much u get paid depends on your fleet, which decides what kind of routes you will generally fly, which will influence the amount of allowances you get paid.

Deja: Certainly a tough situation to be caught in between. On one hand, the airline industry in general is suffering, SIA has stopped recruitment for CC and has recently implemented compulsory no pay leave for them. Sending 17 aircraft off to the desert, prob some cargo and older 777s. Recruitment i...

Good post, Shazni, just some corrections. I'm not sure about the capts, but speaking from a 1st officer's POV, Silkair and SIA FOs earn roughly the same amount on a normal month (no econ downturn etc). This is because SIlkair a higher basic and different PPA calculations, even though they have no LM...

I have never seen a Caucasian cabin crew employed by SIA, much less an European without PR, so I think that's a no.
