Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Better news for me. After reapplying under the sole proprietorship, showing the company I initially registered is now deregistered, I can happy say I nearly pooed my pants when I checked online that the status for my recent Letter of Consent application is now ' ISSUED '. Lets hope it opens up grea...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Not good news. Received a very crypted response from MoM that 'we regret to inform you that your application is unsuccessful ' No further details provided.
Did everything required, but still.....
Guess we will try again in a few months time.
Any guidance will be appreciated.

Re: Tenancy agreements/leases and your rights as a tenant

Landlords and tenants, what can be said? They are both bad ones and good ones. The first one we had was a landlord from hell, but the agent he hired was good, so we had no problem TILL we were leaving (changing houses in SG). There was a long list of faults. Fair enough. Hired a handyman and got eve...

Just moved condos after 2 years and definitely see a softening of rentals, specially in the East Coast area. Moved beginning of Sep into a condo at 20% less of the asking rental in 2011 (we had seen the condo when we arrived in SG but it was beyond our budget at that time). In the interim, the condo...

Has anyone had experience with using the 'callback'cards with respect to quality? I know the inconvenience of waiting for a call back sucks but the rates are amazingly low e.g 500 min to India ( a high rate country) for S$10.

Dave, my two bits would be to go with the break up indicated in your 'budget' for the first 3 to 6 months. There are a lot of unforeseen expenses in Singapore. The line item expenses may need to be changed based on your need to have a comfortable expat experience. The earlier you settle down, the be...
