Comment from a SPG National Day virgin....

what's the point in going to National Day celebrations if they already have the pre-test of the pre-test, then the real pre-test, then the real thing.

.....wouldn't you have already seen everything by the time the actual day comes around?

Re: Tax advice for Australian expats ?

Why not just stick with an Australian tax advisor? Are you planning on being resident or non-resident? You realise that income earned here in Singapore is not subject to tax from Oz due to the tax treaties, right - that is, you pay tax on your earning here in Singapore. The way I've handled this is...

What type of work is she applying for? A DP and an LOC are essentially an EP when put together. Did that make any sense? Basically, if your wife is applying for low paid work, they might be shying away from her because her permit requires a minimum pay of $2500 per month. I don't know if this...

Ok. Thanks for the courtesy line, Bremen. I tried that yesterday and it worked a treat - although no apology was given still at least the women looked sorry for herself. I too reacted the same way. With the first lady, I helped her, make a joke to try to make her smile, and shook my head at the old ...

SE,

Interesting comment...

I only really talk to Mr BB about this topic, so I find no need for tense variations, the word just by itself tends to do the trick. :D

Just noticed one thing in this thread, that instead of offering any good advice people have been condescending, intimidating, unhelpful and judging, to say the least. Yes agree, Kanchan. Nidhi, you will find quite a few options for accommodation, and there are Indian communities all over Singapore....
