Re: sg employment down, foreigners ... up

Stop CPF withdrawal, I doubt it. They'd end up in an international court if they did. If Singaporeans can get their CPF returned if they immigrate and give up their SC then there is no way that I could see a legal course of action to try to retain the CPF of PRs. Now, cutting out CPF for PRs is an ...

Re: sg employment down, foreigners ... up

I don't think that dual citizenship will make a difference for Singaporeans. Many are giving up their American citizenship and the burdensome tax and FATCA procedures that come with it. Unless you are very wealthy, retiring in America will be difficult. Most will probably aim for a place which has ...

Re: Should I accept Job offer from Germany?

don't mean to be rude, but why is it that most questions are met with the question "it would be interesting to know your race". Nothing that the original poster has asked has anything to do with race. Curious much?

Re: sg employment down, foreigners ... up

Too bad citizens with those skills seem to be in the group of a quarter million that have gone where those skills are most appreciated, and those left behind seem only able to dream up shallow appeasements. Perhaps it is ironic that to achieve step-1 of the 'miracle' economic journey, SG has driven...

Re: ST says "Higher salary bar for foreigners seeking family visas"

They are moving accounting and HR as well. It's really quite a problem for Singapore... difficult to justify higher wages without better productivity and creativity... and that's what's missing. this is the really bad news, accounting and hr jobs leaving, as they were the no1 choice for job-hoppers...

Re: Running Folk out of Town ....

what were the offensive words on the T-shirt? nowhere does it seem to mention that It said "I am Ferking Special" Thats what I understand from what I have read. It actually had the full "F" word but this site filters swear words , which says it all when it comes to delinquents f...

Re: More support for local PME's and Wage support for hiring out of work older singaporeans

I believe we are seeing the end of an era. So many people I know have left or are planning to, and there is less and less for people to come her to to keep things running as they were. All things must pass. And I'm so glad I saw this coming and was able to act on it. So long and thanks for the fish...

Re: More support for local PME's and Wage support for hiring out of work older singaporeans

What do you'll think of this latest measure by the govt. Personally I am for the fact that now companies will have to display the salary range in the jobsbank site. Gives people a better idea when trying to look for a job rather than waste their time you see, the point is, regardless of displaying ...

Re: No win situation for PR's?

I believe it's BS as well. Otherwise, I'm sure MS would have waved that danger flag years ago with all threads concerning same in the Strictly Speaking forum. The more I think about it, the more nonsensical it seems. First, it assumes that the gahmen is maintaining a ledger for every naturalized ci...

Re: No win situation for PR's?

What you actually heard is that if one renounces PR and/or citizenship, he has to sell own HDB back to the government and ensure that his children and himself have already fulfilled NS obligation prior to that (or satisfied the conditions/procedures mandated by CMPB). Then he can withdraw CPF in fu...

Re: No win situation for PR's?

AndrewV, what are you smoking? You are not overthinking anything. In fact, you don't appear to be thinking at all. Who in their right mind would take up PR if that were true? Or are you a mole for the opposition parties looking for something to blow up somebody's arse on FB or what-have-you. :???: ...

No win situation for PR's?

Since many of the expats will very possibly retire back to their own country once they are done with Singapore, and given the fact that you need X number of year of residency in order to maintain your PR in , I guess it's safe to assume that once these PR's go back to their native country after a ce...
