Personal items

I interviewed a woman for a position as a helper with us today and she asked if we would include personal items (soap, toothpaste, etc) as part of her contract. I've said yes, but wondering how others go about this? I can see three options - just add it in with the usual shopping, give a monthly all...

Another one here who had to shop online for nursing bras. Also went for figleaves, have ordered through the lovable site as well but not to Singapore (shouldn't be a problem though?)

Photo mounting/album services

Hey there!

I have some professionally-shot photos I'd like to get mounted into an album. They were shot before we left The Old Country but didn't get a chance to do it before the move. Anyone recommend a place? They're special photos, so looking for somewhere that will do a quality job.

I haven't seen any diapering services. Those who can afford those sorts of services often can afford a helper, part time or live-in, hence don't need the service. I don't promise I haven't missed something, though! A part-time cleaner might be the ultimate solution. If you want to line-dry (better) ...

I think the child will figure it out. But consider asking your maid to speak to your baby in her native tongue instead of English (or as well as). She will be more fluent in her native tongue and will speak it correctly (or at least as correctly as the average English speaker speaks English). I've h...

Chinese Chamber of Commerce also offer classes. You could check to see whether there's one to slot into straight away.

Because even the bladeless pedestal fans aren't really childproof - still lots of cords to tangle in and machinery to knock/pull over. And the bladeless ones not that cheap anyway. We've already got pedestal fans in all the rooms I can put them in without causing myself serious maternal anxiety, so ...

Hehehe... you have to know we've had a rough week in our house and we are all severely sleep-deprived, so I only make sense half the time. Or perhaps I only make half sense, I can't remember. Anyway. I think I have my shopping itinerary together now. Pretty sure I can find something in two expeditio...

I'm not going to take a hike that close to dinner/bath/bedtime! Tomorrow, maybe. Wanted to look up address first to plan how to get there, what to take (mrt/bus/taxi/double stroller/single stroller/no stroller/carrier/car seat/taxi vest/snacks/lunch/how many nappies and changes of clothes...?) Can't...

Being, as I am, a mere mortal, I did look up IMM just now. Seems they have a kid's play area and free stroller hire... hm... Thanks for the Balestier Rd suggestion, too. Any other suggestions/opinions/experiences still welcome. I'm planning on making the trip tomorrow and I hope to be all done and d...

Where would you go to buy a ceiling fan?

Going shopping this week to buy a ceiling fan. Wanting to know where you'd go to find a good range, good price, help with delivery and installation. Opinions/experiences? We're along the West Coast but I can travel a bit afield if necessary.
