Re: 21yo, Job offer in IT, no degree, good experience. Any chance to get an EP?
Well, you should know already that the default response on this forum to any enquiry about IT jobs in Singapore now is that it can't be done. So take everything with a grain of salt and do your own thing.

Yeah, I know, I asked Eagle the same question a couple of years back.
I just wanted to check about PEP.
So no dice. Thanks.

Re: How helpful would PEP be for finding a first job in Spore?
1. Sydney, Australian 2. Yes 3. The idea is to get the PEP and fly in to Singapore for interviews only. Keep existing job and everything else as it is until a new job in Singapore has been offered. Once the PEP expires apply for a new PEP with a new set of payslips. Keep going until success or end o...

Re: How helpful would PEP be for finding a first job in Spore?
Ok, but I pretty much would not be losing aything except the $250 per 6 months to be on a 'permanent PEP' if it was possible to keep applying for it indefinitely? No risk of moving and leaving the job. Only losing the $$ for flights and the pay for those days in Singapore. The questions are can I ke...

Re: How helpful would PEP be for finding a first job in Spore?
On MOM site it says that the minimal salary within Singapore to keep holding the PEP is 12k. 18k is the requirement to get PEP. The fee for the visa itself is only around $250. So if I cannot find a job in the first 6 months, can I keep applying for PEP again after it expires?

How helpful would PEP be for finding a first job in Spore?
Hello, I am just wondering how helpful would PEP be for finding a first job in Singapore? Never worked there before, been considering for years. Would a PEP, a local address and phone number which would be call forwarded increase the odds of scoring an interview? And then fly in when scheduled. I gu...

Re: How to look for a job in Singapore from overseas
Well, yes, I am planning to go there after the Chinese new year next year as I`ve heard that would be the best time for job hunting. In the mean time I made connections with a few Singaporean agents. I think it is too early to apply for jobs, but I will start doing that from the end of the calendar ...

How to look for a job in Singapore from overseas
I know it`s been talked about previously, however, the circumstances change all the time, so I still think it would be valuable for many to discuss again about how to tackle looking for a job in Singapore while being overseas. Job applications online are probably not as good, would listing a Singapo...

Re: Is 4k sufficient for a couple to survive in SG
I don`t quite get the advice to cook at home. When compared to hawkers the financial benefit would surely be marginal, if any at all. Don`t forget you would need to purchase spices, oil, possibly some kitchen utensils etc. I would really struggle to cook a meal for the same price you can get at a ha...

You resigned on the basis of a verbal offer? Your'e a fool. Next time, do not resign at all. Seriously. Just keep working at the old job until you're new contract lands. Go to the new job - take leave from the old one - make sure the new job is real. Wait for the first pay packet then resign (or wa...

What did you do in South Korea? Same as here. IT. Large companies. HR is tasked to make calls and ask your current manager would he recommend you to do your job. So most people are tearing their asses apart to buddy up with managers (or traditional Korean style - crawl under his feet which suppose ...
