Buy a house or wait for citizenship outcome?

We are a couple of Indian origin with two baby daughters, PR since 2013 (we got PR within short time of applying probably because we volunteer heavily). Submitted documents for citizenship in June 2016. We were informed that we should check back for the outcome "sometime after June 2017", which is a...

Thanks, petrov!

We figured that was our only option... but we have been already rejected for 2 of the 4 personal loans we applied to, since we are foreigners and have no credit history in Singapore. Fingers crossed, hope something works out!

Medical Loan

Hi there! We are Indian expats, we recently moved here. We need to get a deep brain stimulation procedure done for my father-in-law who is a Parkinson's disease patient, and also an Indian national like us. We have to take a loan of S$50000 for this. I want to know if any of you expats have had to t...

Helper wants only part of her monthly salary now

Hi there! I don't know if this is a common problem... but my helper wants me to give her only part of her monthly salary ($250) now. She wants me to keep the rest of her salary ($150) until the end of the year. Apparently she has a habit of spending all her money at hand, and she wants to save enoug...

Maid Agency Fee

Hi there, I have narrowed down on an Indian full-time transfer maid. Her agency (Central Manpowers) is asking for a $1000 one-time agency fee. If I do not like the maid in the first 3 months, they will provide me with one replacement for $200 extra. My questions are- How much did you pay as a maid a...

Park West - Clementi

Hi all, My husband and I are moving to Singapore next month, and we are seriously considering a 3-bedroom condo at Park West in Clementi. We are a young Indian couple moving from the US, and we like parks, pubs and eating out. Lifestyle is important to us, but proximity/accessibility to work is the ...
