I'll spend some time browsing through the whole forum, hoping sometime soon, this noob stamp will be erased from my forehead! :D [/img]

Sorry for threadjack but:

Mods, how about opening a subforum like the Airline one for Permits/Pass discussions?

Then the perennial reply of 'try using the search function, d-bag!' will transform into the shorter 'see sub-forum above, d-bag!' :D

How about filing a harassment report within your own country and mention the scamming practice that this company uses to procure new notebooks? Just for the record..

Any files on the notebook indicating it was used two years ago, like a company program/ program associated with the company?

Not too many. We are in the middle of an industrial estate in the devil's triangle between Clementi, Jurong East & Bukit Batok. Additionally, it's very dark there so most are afraid to leave late in the evenings out of fear. Lot's of dormitories around there, so if their are female, they are hesita...

Re: Benefit of being local whilst searching for Banking job

Plenty of banking jobs in Singapore, and plenty of the multinationals will recruit from abroad with telephone interviews and face to face meetings in the local office where you are based (as you're in the UK it should be pretty easy for you to go to an interview in a bank's London office before the...

That is for when you get approved and go in and get a year long stamp. They take that D/E card back off you and stamp your passport. I was in Singapore when I applied for it, and from application to the rejection, they never asked for the D/E card.. so it must be for when the online process (e-VP) i...

Yes, I have had my LTVP rejected just last week and yet had my EPEC approved. As far as I know, you dont need to be in Singpore for the application of the LTVP, but if you are granted one, they MAY ask you to go in for an interview. I've fired off a couple of emails asking why it was rejected but I'...

The Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) allows foreigners to stay in Singapore for up to one year to facilitate their job search in Singapore. Successful EPEC applicants are required to apply for a one-year Visit Pass from the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) to allow them to s...

Smoking is bad for your health. I quit almost 6 years ago. I don't eat cake either, but when I did, I rarely used or needed a fork unless it was meringue or lots of cream. Obviously you still don't understand, even with the links, what an EPEC actually is. It is not a guarantee to a LTVP. Full Stop...

(Bolded) Precisely. Not everybody needs a fork to eat cake. In fact, probably only a 50:50 portion do. Which goes back to my earlier point. English comprehension. You example is good, as it supports my views. No, in this context, 100% of people need a fork. In that sentence the cake is the prize, t...

What I am saying is the process leaves a lot to be desired for.. I looked at the EPEC site again, and it may be a while for you guys, but it actually expressly mentions one can stay up to a year with an EPEC! Is this some sort of Singlish I don't understand? Here it is: ''The Employment Pass Eligib...

C'mon guys, I never said Singapore owed me this pass, nor did I ever mistake an EPEC to mean a guaranteed LTVP. I've been checking this forum long enough to know. What I am saying is the process leaves a lot to be desired for.. I looked at the EPEC site again, and it may be a while for you guys, but...

I think it is very clearly mentioned on the EPEC. By just getting the EPEC approved, the applicant shouldn't take it for granted that they will get the LTSVP. I would love to know the criteria for the LTVP from the EPEC route. Are they basing it on age? education? because that's the only info on an...

True, they are two different departments, but as a whole, they should expressly point out on the EPEC website that, it does not guarantee an LTVP.. As far as I can remember, on the EPEC site, it only says, you 'can' apply for LTVP, even making the wording sound like you'll get it no problem.. Think ...

I got the EPEC already, just not the long term social visit pass. The application for the social visit pass was the one that got refused.. The point about the nine month thing was to highlight the fact it wouldn't have been a big deal for them to approve a one year pass for me when I could stay for ...
