Re: Third-Party Relocation / Visa Agency

I got accepted after 10 days. Seems like I was incorrect in my statement of SIRVA being inefficient. I know where you're coming from. Good thing yours came through OK and got approved. Mine was done by such company too. Let's just say here that as far as Singapore immigration is concerned, you don'...

Re: How Can I Verify the Validity of an IPA Letter?

This is a common cheating tactic by agents to get money. If you don't get IPA with your name on it and FIN number on it, and they ask you to pay for it, then very likely you legally do not have anything and they're trying to cheat your money. A proper agent will already be ready to hand you a full I...

Re: Living at Reflections Keppel Bay - Help!

You have probably finalised it by now but the side gate only makes sense if you live at the tower unit (which you are). It does offer a short cut but not a huge margin. Still 10 minutes to the bus stop or MRT station, please pray that the sun isn't hot and there's no rain when you walk. I wished I l...

Re: hi The Lynx

I often buy in JB during my occasional trips there. Freshlook (from Ciba Vision) monthly colour lenses for MYR110 (3 pairs) (this one was based on buy two, free one promotion). Biomedics (from Cooper Vision) monthly toric lenses (for my astigmatism) for MYR240 (7 pairs) (based on buy 6 pairs/2 boxe...

Re: Moving to Thailand

I've used Alliance Movers when I moved out of Singapore. The Singapore team (I suspect they are all Malaysians) is very efficient, careful and polite. Unfortunately I've only used a company in SG once so I do not have experience with other companies to compare. But I can tell you 2 things for sure: ...

Re: What's the average lifespan of a listing to rent?

Moving back? :D A place I was in, older but comfortable, was on the market for nearly a year before the LL gave up and tried to sell. He was an idiot, would have stayed but he tried to increase the rent in a falling market. So I would think older properties hang around longer than more recent offer...

What's the average lifespan of a listing to rent?

Let's say, I am looking for a place to rent. I see a listing of a place that I like. But I am not moving until February or even March. Is it too soon to contact the agent of the listing in November? On a side note, anything new in the realm of shady agents? New scam etc? Or is it the same ol', same ...

Re: Open Water swimming where ?

Hello, fellow open water swimmer here. Let's say you're not looking into joining a team locally, Singapore is pretty bad when it comes to options to swim. Max Headroom is right about East Coast Park, the stretch between Bedok Jetty and NSC. In fact that's the most common stretch used by aquathlon, t...
