You are not alone in your fears. Turbulence also gives me the willies, and I do not suffer from motion sickness. To overcome the fear, I try to understand the mechanics behind the turbulence, usually low pressure weather systems, and know that it will pass after 30 minutes or so. For long haul fligh...

You paid s$21k to import your bike here? Ouch!!!!!!! Before the emission test centre at BB, one needed to get the cert from some centre overseas. I was considering importing my 2 year old FZ6 from Germany in 2008 but because of the paperwork and hassle, I sold it there, and bought one here instead. ...

When I worked for the government and quit that place mid-contract to join an MNC, they insisted that I work the 3 month notice period, and initially wanted to withhold the 3 months salary, unless I signed a form pledging that my next employer would be in Singapore. The 2nd time I worked for the gove...

For EP holders,

it is common for employers to hold back the last 3 months salary, for the purpose of settling your responsibilities if you don't.

And for utilities, like a phone, the company will ask for a deposit. Which is returned when you close the account.

If your telly has got a HDMI, SCART or AV input, then it will connect to the Starhub or MIO box. If you want any decent telly, then a Starhub set-top-box is a must, you can get BBC and Granada, and even watch old episodes of Corrie I indicated somewhere else on this forum that one shoud try and sell...

The best area in Sing may not be the most convenient to commute to your job. Traffic can be horrendous and public transport crowded to the point where you are standing on the stairwell of the bus.

Depending upon where your job is may well dictate where is convenient to live.

If you make it Botak's then I can consider.
They got a place next to SPH in Toa Payoh, and there is
garden bar there too.

If not may I suggest Bliss at Punggol Park.
That's a bistro bar by the pond

Re: Is importing a motorcycle a good idea?

Forget going through the process of importing your bikes or cars. It is riddled with red tape and expense, and will involve sending you machines back to the home country for emission tests.. Unless your machine is made of Gold, sell it, or put it into storage. If you buy a bike locally. There is a v...
