I live in Siglap area too. Of course taxis will be the alternative, but if you prefer to take the MRT, Kembagan MRT Station (Green Line) will be the closest. You can take it to City Hall to get onto the red line and stop at Marina Bay. You can avoid any traffic in the morning, the train ride should ...

I believe to get and bid for a new HDB (I meant the BTO ones), it needs to be a SG/SG or SG/SPR couple. For a SG single, I believe you only qualify for a resale HDB. A Singaporean and a Foreigner couple, you can purchase a resale. The flat will be under the name of the SG and spouse will be an occup...

Not sure if this thread is still active. We currently have the AXA International Exclusive plan, the prices are definitely more competitive and affordable compared to BUPA. The coverage, in our opinion is also very comprehensive. I believe that AXA has more known existence around the world too. edit...

Hi Madcap, congrats that you got your PEP approved. The 6 months starts from the time when you head to MOM to get your PEP card (correct me if I am wrong, MS and SMS). It's a lot easier to get a job while you are in Singapore, as it will be more conducive to attend job interviews while you are here....

Ok, coming from another silent member. Albeit that I'm not from the subcontinent, and I'm a very local Sporean who had spent years in the US, I do have to agree with SMS. Unfortunately, there are loads of your countrymen in the US (especially those with Masters and higher) having the tendency to hav...

Unless you are willing to settle for very low pay, and you wouldn't be in the EP category. They have a large influx of foreigners in your job that are also willing to settle for lower pay, so wishing you the very best of luck!

Yes, you are right, most of the jobs that you are looking for are with the government bodies here ( MOH, HSA, HDB, etc.)..There is a high demand for people in your field with the right experience. However, they require Singapore citizen or Singapore PRs only, especially you are dealing with internal...

SMS, Singapore Flyer and Saint, Thanks for the awesome and priceless advice. I agree that the PEP might be the best and most staightforward method and I have more than enough time to start the PEP process in Nov for our move to Sg in Jan 2011. Now, my only concern is that my parents (local contacts ...
