It could take up to a year or more. The problem it that you people will never learn that what happened to somebody you know has absolutely NO relevance to your application. Only if the previous passports contain things like change of names, etc. Unless said passports also contain references contained there granting residence in other countries (like the old Singapore PR re-entry stamps contained therein.
