Hi,

In Singapore, most Tae Kwon Do classes are taught in community halls. However, there are a few private schools around:

1) JH Kim Tae Kwon Do Institute Singapore (WTF style)
http://www.tkd-singapore.com
2) Taekwon Singapore (WTF style)
http://www.taekwonsg.com
3) Island Tae Kwon Do (ITF style)

Hope this helps!

Just saw this post - in 2012! Wanted to write about our fantastic local taekwando school - Ildo Taekwando at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre (the old building next to Beauty World, not Bukit Timah Plaza where the Fairprice Finest is!). It is run by the wonderful Master Daniel Kim and his lovely family. He is such a special teacher - he has such a passion for children, for taekwando, for learning and for fun. He has taught all my kids from age 4 up, and the adults class is great fun too. I couldn't recommend them highly enough - one of the best things we've ever done in Singapore. They are STF (and also Kukkiwon from Korea) not WTF.

Hi SonyaSz, the STF is affiliated to the WTF so they style taught and the eventual Kukkiwon certificate awarded is still the same as WTF.

A good way to judge taekwondo clubs in Singapore would be to go and watch an STF grading (check the STF website for upcoming gradings) where all the clubs will be present (usually held in a sports hall somewhere around Singapore) then you can figure out which clubs are suited to you. (i.e. mostly children, mostly adults, mostly expats, etc).

My kids go to JH Kim, they seem very popular and I believe they teach WTF.

I want to start TKD also but the price is so expensive in Singapore. Most of the clubs I contacted charge 150SGD/month. Does anyone know more affordable TKD clubs?
Thx
