Hi Guys
My wife has been offered a job in Singapore and has accepted. Good news!
Apparently as a spouse I have a visa that allows me to work in Singapore. At the moment though I run a small business in the UK. Essentially its a micro-business as I actually spend most of my time looking after our three year old son and run it in my spare time. Its just starting to turn into something quite promising though and I'm loathe to give it up
I need to know:
1. is it possible to relocate a small (pretty much entirely mail order/ online) business to singapore on a spouse visa?
2. I have a reasonable stock of items (which I actually design and manufacture) Where do I need to contact about doing this, and finding out about the import implications/ possible tax breaks?
3. Does anyone know where I can find out about taxes on small businesses?
Essentially I've had a good look at this and that online, but its all phone numbers to contact. Given the amount of info I need I'm looking for enquiries email addresses where I can send these questions for govermnet bodies in Singapore
In short, you can get a Dependants pass, sponsored by your wives company. You can only work if your employer requests a letter of consent from MOM (ministry of man power) or you get your own employment pass from an employer or you apply for an Entrepass (Entrepreneur pass).
There is plenty of stuff on the forum in regards to this kind of thing, have a read around and look on the mom webpage and you'll find what you need. _________________ nutnut
