Hello to everyone here!
Like many of you, I have been lurking around for a long while reading this forum.. But have only just registered myself as a member. I am going for the interview on the 25th at 9.10am. This will be my second attempt, and to be honest I am really nervous.
I am sure by now, most of us who are going for the interviews for the coming two days must have prepared themselves well.. So good luck to everyone! And jiayou!
This forum has definitely quieten down a lot recently. I hope that those who are going for interviews on the 24/25th will come back to this forum and update all of us of the process! So that the rest can learn and be prepared for the upcoming walk-in! (: I will keep you guys updated of my interview.. Hopefully this time round I will get to the management round (: _________________ One day, I will fly away. |

maybe we can go together too haha )
anyways i heard there are 3 rounds of interview on the first day, and a final one on the 26th ?
so i assume the first round is the normal self intro, second round will be the kerbaya. and third ? |
hey talkingtoes!!! I got the same date and same timing as you!
Finally managed to find someone who got the same slot as me! |
3rd will be a one-on-one interview... 1st round may not be self intro..it can be a question..and u have to stand up and answer it spontaneously..for example.."if u were to have a super power, what will it be and why?..OR..are u an introvert or an extrovert person, please explain.." that sort of questions..seemed simple, but once there, this mouth just couldnt move and became numb.. hehe... management round will be 2-on-one.. results will be known on the spot.. =) |
hi.. isit cfm going to hv 3 rounds? do u noe how long is the 3 rounds going to rush? coz i hv to rush back to work.. plz advice =[ |

Btw M, I'm curious. Are you an air stewardess yourself? As i see you sharing alot also. I seemed to miss your introduction somewhere.. |
actually non ranking crews with a p, will "attract" more attention from your seniors because you are relatively new. its a double edged sword. it really depends who are you are working with.
im with sia but minus the "ess" goodluck to all for tomorrow's interview. |

hi, if you are really keen in this job, why not take a full day off for it? why do you wanna go through the mental stress of reporting back for work? this will affect your mental state while waiting for the relevant interview later in the day. |

self introduction can be the norm but please be prepared for other scenarios or questions posed to you. can be anything under the sun.
what im trying to say here is, do not focus too much on self introduction. know the gees of it, what you need to say and not what you have to say. have a clear mind when you go in, and when someone else is presenting herself, maintain eye contact and smile at the peeps infront of you.

fss - flight stewardess
fs - flight steward
lss - leading stewardess
ls - leading steward
css - chief stewardess
cs - chief steward
ifs - inflight supervisor
ia - inflight auditor
these are the different positions categorized within the cabin crew hierarchy. |

So, is the ia just as good about bringing me a scotch as the fss? I can never remember all the colors. No booze going to KL anyway. _________________ . The Mankind Project - Changing the world one man at a time. |

what are you needs and what are you wants? are you following me now?
i always believe, the moment you step into the room, the interviewers have started to observe you.
your body language is crucial. they will be observing you even when you are not presenting and thus the need to maintain occasional eye contact with them, and not forgetting your smile. occasionally turn and look at the presenter as he or she still deserves your attention. note the word occasional. dont overdo it.
so as to speak, its not really what you have said which will impress them but rather the whole package since you stepped into the room. remember your body posture and smile. show your darlie smile to them.
what ive written are based on my experience and observations so spare me the rod yeah. |

nah, usually the ia doesnt work onboard. they only stand and observe everyone else. they are onboard primarily because of check reports on individual. |

i do not know the current sequence like. if management is within the day, you will probably take up a day. the waiting time can be tedious. |

phew~ i read somewhere we need to keep looking at the interviewers and i thought it was crappy cos it prolly make the rest of the girls invisible. so it's alright that i maintain eye contact with the other girls when i'm presenting right?
okay, somhow i feel i'm a little cranky now. |

really nervous bout the interview! seriously, what should our self-introduction include? name age previous school, experience and stuff? or should it include the reason we want to join SIA.
also, what would be a classic appropriate outfit for the interview?
thanks for your help!! |

its improving. time has evolved, so have the crews. as long as you are hardworking, you know your work, its fine. follow the black and white, literally no one will and can touch you.
the only sad part, with the introduction of internet, now crews hardly gather together outstation. |
