Hi,
I was wondering if people can enlighten me on the facial differences between Chinese, Korean, and Japanese women?

I'm asking because I am Chinese but people always tell me I "look Korean" and I'm not sure what that means. I asked them to explain but they'd only say, "you just do..." Since I'm from the U.S., the Korean celebrities I know are Margaret Cho (comedian) and Sandra Oh (actress) and I don't look like either one of them. Then I tried to google this information online. No luck.

So I am just putting the question out there. Are there any specific traits that are more/less prominent between Chinese/Korean/Japanese women? I looked into the current celebrities/actresses of those countries and it seems they all look rather similiar to me - in that they have more Eurasian features but I feel like the celebrities are vastly different from the general population!

Ah! I am so confused! Help?

these people who say you look like korean, do they know any korean? someone can only say it if they know and seen a lot of korean to do a comparison. then again, any comparison is not definite as there no features between a chinese and korean.

but for you, you can probably tell the difference between a chinese and korean. and probably someone from mali can tell the difference between someone from niger and chad. the list goes on...

Aren't the differences so obvious to the eye ?

Could you be staying in the nutshell too long, you don't expose much to the world which makes it difficult for u to tell the difference?

There are 2 types of japanese beauties:

1) the mixed look - these people are really mixed with western blood and with japanese blood. They spell beautiful.

2) the traditional, typical japanese look - these people are very sweet in their features. Attractive. Japanese women usually just cut open their eyes and maybe a nosejob, They also try to make their face look slimmer. And for those with bony long thin face, they inject it with fats to give them the more "kah-wa-ieee" look.

Korean beauties :

The women are majorly taller and better in physique than the japs. They also cuit open their eyes, nosejob may not be necessary unless they find their nose bulbous and fat, majorly for korean girls , they are beautiful and cute. They don't have to act sweet to be deemed as attractive as like most japs. In terms of physique and features, they are the best in Asia. They don't require lots of jobs on their face to look pretty.

TaiwAN beauties :

These women usually are addicts in PS/CS, they do alot of modification and remodification to their faces to achieve the best results. You name it, they have it, ....skin whitening injection, silicone implants, chin, cheeks implants, cut eyes big big looking rather alient and unnatural, fat injection to be more cute, botox shots, lamb placenta programs/sessions ....

Threy really do whatever takes to look nice and willl feel very inadequate without at least commanding attention from majorly man, they may also feel good if they perceived to have incurred jealousy from other women. They are rather fierce & emotional women inately, trying to mask up with sweet , attractive appeal. They are truly bimboic, if not giving lots of noise pollution while trying to act cute.

Give them what they want , make them feel beautiful, otherwise, they camn turn to be rather spiteful.

Maannnn....I talking more than I should. I'll just end here. Very Happy

I disagree with feline on the japs part.

The japs are really very attractive in tokyo, if jap girls or women in their 25-40s are to relocate to Sg, they may put many women here from 15-60s to great strive, jealousy, depression & insecurity. Many people including the famous celebrities even after their rumored surgeries, can't even match some married women of tokyo or korea in terms, this is still my opinion base on my those pretty japs woman shown on magazine, my ideal aesthetic, international standards for physique & facial aesthetic attractiveness. those international celebrities whom I consider as beautiez are audrey hephburn, Princess Diana, Anna Nicole Smith, Madonna, Gweneth Paltrow, Marilyn Monroe.

Face the facts & let's get real , certain people are borned to be really pretty perhaps needing only 1 procedure (to open up the eyes) while for others, they had to achieve it with significant surgeries and modification.

And jap women are the most least endowed among the chinese asian race. I hope you are not judging from all the porn images you see coz, all jap women who shoot porn , 100% have surgeries done to their boobs.

The most well endowed chinese woman are those who are destined to be that way, they usually come from China, the Northern China states, the pure chinese...base on those I had seen , and of course, some well endowed on the chest may comprise of japs, korean, taiewanese, hong kongers, sgeans, but you can't confined them to only japs, this is ridiculous because I think that they are usually more blessed on their face rather than on their chest. C'mon I went on all woman hotsprings often in korea and japan, don't I know? Can't I see it obviosuly ?

Sg women are mostly of the southern china descend and really, I feel in terms of aesthetic , the Northern Chinese are still prettier , we all know what we have. Let's face it. Confused

Actually I have soft spot for jap guys and some korean guys, only those that are not fat and those which have single eyelid and sharp nose. somehow or rather I don't like big eyes chinese men. All very ah-guah look.

I think these races are the most attractive looking asian, too bad those men from taiwan kinda put me off as most guys look like ah-guah if they do their nose or make their eyes bigger, eyes big men are only good looking in the caucasian race.

Sad to say not all man look like man in Sg.

Dancing Razz You have obviously met your match and lost by the sound of it Laughing how embarrassing, would you be Singaporean by any chance! I must admit the last paragraph fits all, wouldn't you think?

As for looks, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder! Thank god! But anyone that believes, that cosmetics and polly filler will do the trick, really should turn the light off! Razz from a mans point of view! It is my belief that many suffer from neurotic anxieties, when it comes to war paint! How old are you 15? I'm sorry, I just feel that you do need to grow up and stop being so judgemental, it must be very stressful for you, take a pill, you are just expressing your immature behaviour, and lack of knowledge.

Hmmm, wow, this is very interesting. thanks for the responses.
I'm not very tall, maybe 158-160cm and have a longer torso with sturdy legs (plus, I wear pants 24/7 anyway so it's more difficult to tell). But I don't think they were talking about that when they told me I looked Korean. They would just stare at my face and say, "Wow, you look Korean!" I have double eyelids and a heart-shaped face...But yeah, from what I've seen the general Korean population looks very different from the celebrities they produce so I wasn't sure if my commentors meant I looked like a Korean celebrity (which btw I really don't think I do - I'm not thin and cute enough) or if they meant the general population.

Yeah, it's not an issue I fret about. I was just very curious. I grew up in the U.S. so obviously I wasn't exposed to A LOT of Asian ethnic groups all the time so I still can't tell sometimes. I've only been to Japan and Korea once, China a few times, and Taiwan never. But Chinese women vary significantly in their features as well since the country is so big and there is a lot of physical differences between Northern and Southern Chinese. Anyway, thanks for the replies again.

There's a very simple reason why Japanese women on average look better than locals:

They always wear makeup. ALWAYS.

Seriously. A Japanese woman will not leave the house without putting on makeup. One lady I knew would take a shower in the evening and put on makeup before going to bed! Shocked

Most Singaporean women make up lightly if at all, because it's a hassle and this climate isn't suited for it. But slap on the make up for that average-looking Singaporean girl, and hey presto, she's going to look just as fabulous as her Japanese counterparts. Perhaps even better, as odds are that, unlike most Japanese girls, her teeth won't look like this:

Well, I do agree with you on some points , Smile BUT .>>>>>

Getting ideas and impressions from survey isn't accurate all the time, just like the media doen't tell you the truth. There are stuffs which are never published , which only by putting in effort to observe, can 1 know what's going on.

Perhaps that lingerie was a japanese lingerie company and of course they will support their own people. But the facts are, much as our eyes are able to see, and seeing is believing .... ARE that JAPS WOMEN ARE THE LEAST ENDOWED ON CHEST.

If you don't believe, it's fine, just stay the way you are. Smile We women who travel and sight seeing know what's and what's not. I also mingle with women of different asian nationalities, we girls do chat about girls topics and some facts spell louder than murmurs and gossips.

We girls also have an eye to see for ourselves what's there and what's not. Surprised

Nothing gets away undetected by my eye ... hehhehe Laughing

Yes, every jap girls will makeup before they leave their house. But jap women also look nice without makeup.

I think most jap women are much prettier than the rest of the Sgean woman

However they are very shorter in height. Sg celebrities are also shorter thus, I rhink many celebs here fall short in the category of height.
The international beauty standards is at least 1.75m and above

My taste are real chinese beauties like tang bing bing, chang ziyi, gong li, and many other authentic china beauties which you will only chance upon in tour, they are not even celebrities but are truly beautiful and so much better looking than those in the media. Name it, u got it ....height..... figure ....good skin tone ....vocal singing talents, dancing talents..... every parts of them are real and no implants.

They say to be in the media, u require network, the selection isn't even fair to begin with, they pull strings with their own clan and which is why many Sgeans switched to cable TV for foreign artistes instead of suffering to see the same people in the entertainment showbiz monthly. Well on just a tiny island, i guess the way to make it is thru by very close network, but at times, I feel that the performance and quality isn't really there as compared to foreign films.

I seen many international flims and I think they are better than most sg productions

hey shiyun that guy you posted looks more korean

I think he's average
I dunno, I guess what I've found (and it's seems true) is that overseas in places such as the US, Aus, and nz where I lived, there are ALOT more good looking asians.

In your opinion, that guy is good looking, imo, he's plain looking
I've seen alot better looking guys quite often where I lived.

Malay guys are generally bad looking imo

well...yes... I am very attracted to asian chinese men especially of those northern descend. I find them very attractive to me, and mysterious. Their gaze is cool and manly, reflecting a kinda "make me yours" look on varying angles....totally seductive (to me) as a chinese man , eye not too big nor small, just right size ... Wink

Most caucasian men are nice to be with, they make you feel comfortable and at ease, but they are only good as friends, attraction is still not there.

However when it comes to chinese men with physique and single lids, non-chubby face and not too bony face, I really find them hard to resist, taking another glance.

It's depressing here in Sg not even few resembles that guy in photo I posted. I don't find eurasian guys nice looking. I'm attracted to africans (I like their strong and tall build), koreans, and perhaps a little of british blood men. Sg men are no way and out for me. Sad

Sg men mindset is totally very different and nothing of them are attractive to me.

After looking at all the posts here, it really weird that people has the opposite side of views on asians. However, I totally DISAGREE with you- SHIYUN777 that singaporean men has different mindset compare to other ethnic group. This is an understatement.
Perhaps guys that you have met in singapore are not what you expected, but have you really meet all the singaporean guys yet? That's a very judgemental statement eh? Have you ever dated different ethnic group of guys? Sometimes, you need to get to know different ethnic group of guys before you could actually make such a statement. I have dated different type of ethnic guys in my life. It doesn't matter whether the guy is japanese, african, korean etc, it all depends on the upbringing and the mentality of the guy. I have dated singaporean men who is good looking and have dated korean guys who does not look great. It really depends on personal preferences on looks, right? What i think may look good but you might think it's yukies!
But one thing i do noticed, many singaporean women complained a lot about singaporean men! hahaha....that's really sad right?

yah most of the time yes, but chinese ppl are really diverse looking

some look koreanish/mongolianish
some look delicate and small like japanese ppl
some look mixed
while others have the 'chinese' look so...

generally korean all look one way before surgery =X
that is single eyelids, and squarish faces...

it's a fact really, I'm not being mean lol. I have a square face too -_-

It is a known fact that Japanese are particular in being well groomed, except the ones in the rural areas (work outdoors by the sea or in the fields). In the city, the girls all strive to have their hair in place to look tidy and neat. To at least put on some kind of powder or foundation and dress neatly, even if the trend is the grunge or goth look. The hair or outfit maybe a messy look but it was styled that way with effort.

I think by comparison, in Singapore, we go for comfort. In summer time, as humid as our climate, you will hardly see any Japanese girl dressed in singlet, shorts and flipflops with pony tail and bare face walking around in the city or malls on weekend, unlike in Singapore. They are always well groomed, even to look casual. Even if they dress like mentioned, it will fit properly and look neat, not oversized or creased.
