I will love you give you some advices...but I havent really speak to any interviewer about what they are looking for...most important..look confident...carry your smile gracefully...be humble...these 2 factors never go wrong..good luck! hope to see you in STC soon! _________________ ::s.m.u.r.f.i.e.e.e:: |

heyho.. medical will only be done the next day (cos u will likely end the whole interview process around 3-5pm if you reached at 8plus), unless the interview is on a weekday/saturday cos the medical centre is closed on sundays |

@questiongirl : there is nothing much to the medical chk actually, just any regular medical chks u have to do before going on to a full time job..
@Smurflee : no worries, i failed twice at rd 1 before too. and got in 3rd try.
Just be really confident, you must control your emotions and be really objective.. try and relax.. you'll do better..
@Class83 : just the usual stuffs, height, weight, blood test, eyesight, heart pressure, medical history.. thats what they did to me luh.. they dint even check whether i have a arc-back.. or any bone related problems..
hope all you ppl get in..!
oh, im currently flying in case you guys wondered how i suddenly pop out, this forum was my manual when i was trying for interviews too.! haha! |

Thanks for your reply! What happens if I have to fly off immediately after my interview rounds. My flight is on Sunday! Will they allow me to go for my medical after my trip? _________________ Helloo! (: |

For current crews / ex crews ...
May i ask... out of 30days in a month... typically (generally), how many days will you be in singapore?
Is it like 12 out of 30 days in sg?
or as much as 15days out of 30 days in sg?
Thanks in advance! |

depends on your flight schedule.
You can do a cof and generally don't really be in singapore and also depends on the type of fleet you operating. EG: A345 or A380.
but typically, 15 days should be the safer bet.
hope this helps ^^

hi guys, i was wondering what is best during the interview..to tie up our hair or to jst let it be. it might be pretty much a simple question but i got confused by what some people said, like tying it up might appearing that we are trying too hard to be like them (cus sq girls bun up their hair)
but not tying it up might appear to be messy thus ruining the chances!
please offer your opinions |

@Gnip : not so sure about that, prolly you have to ask for advice from the admin ppl that will be handling the paperworks at the interview, they are mostly liekly HR, and they will know everything in regards to employments laws, regualations, and deadlines.
@wanderwanderlust : hmmm, during my training days, what i learnt was that, u will at least get a 8 days off in SG, liek a 5 days work week in a sense..
but most prolly you will get more days in sg.. like kristine said.. we do COF and yada yada.. my fss have like 11 off straight cos she change for offs.. and of cos, ur fleet types come in place in due time as u start flying.
@crunkabee : i personally think bunning ur hair and making up like a SIA crew for interview is just a tad too much.. my opinion is, be it guys or girls, just wear decently and professionally to show basic courtesy and respect to the interviewers and SQ itself.. no doubts some ppl get thru even when they wear *anyhow* for an interview, but thats up to the interviewers. i still think being professional is the safest bet.
@kristine : hey i saw your crew blog! i flew with jane too! haha! |

| @smurflee : im very junior la! haha.. flying have it's good and bad.. just liek any job.. but i must say, apart from travel perks, and decent pay. you really see 1001 kind of ppl in this job.. and its really not the passengers that make flying sucks to some ppl, most crew prolly will say its the crews that make life in SQ difficult.. so we learn the way to adapt and *wayang* sometimes in some sense.. most crew now is nice.. so no worries la.. start of kana abit is ok 1.. train ourselves to be untouched... |

Sorry. What's a "COF"?
You mentioned - 15days should be a safer bet.
Does it means, on "good" months, you could possibly be in sg for more than 15days?
Thanks! |

COF means change of flight.. but for all of us thinking of working in this line, we all must be prepared to not be singapore one.. if ure very concerned the number of days ure here, you also wont be very happy if u dun get a certain number of off days a mth.. must be prepared la (: |

@kristine : haha, oops=x.. ck is my initials la. and i did a SFO with jane way back..
@wanderwanderlust : depends on what your defination of *Good* is.. some ppl whom dread the job wish that 31 days of the mth is OFFS! and some rather COF away off days for flights, so they can earn heaps..! |

Hello everyone. One question.
I went for the January 2010 recruitment for the first time. Managed to get through the rounds till the final round. I was eliminated the last round, the management round. Can't believe it wasn't individual interview. I think they changed the system.
Anyway, I heard about the '6-months ban' if you are eliminated the final round. I wasn't told about this from the staff who told me I didn't make it.
I plan to go again next recruitment but kinda hesitant about it when I heard about the ban. Would you advise me to go for the March recruitment? Would they ask me to leave and come back again. Or should I just go for it? Thanks. |

Are you trying to get yourself permanently excluded? OK they didn't tell you but from your post you obviously know now. Should you go, one way or the other they are going to know, if not at the interview maybe at a later date when you might be employed by them and if haven't told them you tried before (assuming they ask at the walk-in or whenever) then they will sack you for dishonesty. Do yourself a favour: wait, think, plan then the sweeter success will be. _________________

it was 2 interviewers to 4 interviewees.
there'll be 3 phase in the interview.
phase 1: given 30sec, knw the person beside you. Coz u're required to introduce this person instead of introducing yourself.
phase 2: discussion question. you'll need to given your own opinion to the question given. interviewers will then further elaborate it by asking you whether u agree to the other person's pt of view n etc!
phase 3: passage reading
tt's abt all~~ but it was pretty tense!! _________________ ♥ A great way to fly ♥ |

I need some help here please! The walk-in is on the 20th, I understand. Should I make it through all the rounds, is it possible for me to go for the medical examination a month later on? I have a flight to catch on the 21st. :/
Is there a number I can call for information on this? _________________ Helloo! (: |
